It's a good idea to use Lightning-type Pokemon that are easy to set up and can deal a good amount of damage to Ho-Oh ex, such as Pikachu ex, Pom-Pom Style Oricorio, or Zeraora.
Pom-Pom Style Oricorio is particularly good against this deck, since it cannot be damaged by either Ho-Oh ex or Lugia ex.

Prioritize getting rid of Pichu and try to prevent Ho-Oh ex from attacking. Lugia ex has a very strong attack in Elemental Blast, but it's major downside is that it requires three different types of Energy which need to be replenished after every use.
Fire is the main Energy produced by this deck. If you get rid of Pichu, it'll be harder for Lugia ex to get any Lightning Energy. Ho-Oh ex provides all the Energy that Lugia needs when it attacks, but it requires 3 Energy to set up. Knock it out before it can get 3 Energy, and you won't have to worry about Lugia ex at all.

Ho-oh ex and Lugia ex require quite a bit of setup to work. Because of this, this deck has a few Pokemon that accelerate the type of Energy that they would need.
To disrupt your opponent, you may switch out the Pokemon that is in the Active Spot. You may do this with Trainer Cards such as Sabrina or Repel.

For the Metal-type Battle Task, you can use this Skarmory ex deck.
This deck takes advantage of various cards to make Skarmory ex durable throughout the match. The goal is to set up Skarmory ex with Steel Apron and Jasmine, while you can use regular Skarmory to whittle down opposing cards.

This Pom-Pom Oricorio and Magnezone deck is recommended for the 3◇ Battle Task. Pom-Pom Oricorio's Ability shuts down any opposing ex Pokemon, which can help you set up Magnezone in your Bench.
Magneton's ability allows you to place extra Lightning energy onto itself. Stack as much energy as you can on Magneton before evolving it into Magnezone.
Once set up, you can bring out Magnezone to the Active Spot and, with the help of Giant Cape, withstand any attack while easily eliminating non-ex Pokemon with its powerful 110 damage attack.
