Mega Altaria ex with Gourgeist make for a combo that's difficult to completely shut down. Both Pokemon are great at achieving 2HKOs on most threats.
Jirachi and Chingling are utility inclusions in the deck that can offer sniping and disruption.

Gourgeist serves as the deck's primary attacker, dealing 70 damage every turn for only one Energy using Soul Shot. Greavard is also able to use Soul Shot, notably being able to KO Baby Pokemon.
Houndstone is used as a late-game finisher, being able to deal lots of damage with Last Respects after multiple Pokemon have been put into your Discard Pile.
Klefki's Dismantling Keys Ability can discard Giant Capes and other annoying Tool cards while also contributing to Houndstone's damage output.

Meloetta's Strange Singing can help fill your hand with Pokemon that you can discard with Gourgeist's Soul Shot. Use Meloetta to help with your setup and board state.

Mega Altaria ex is an effective attacker that's capable of taking out most Pokemon in one or two hits. Houndstone is also capable of dealing lots of damage with Last Respects. Use these Pokemon for decisive KOs for when Gourgeist can't deal enough damage.

Gourgeist decks are prone to bad starts. Switch out your Active Pokemon using Peculiar Plaza or other switching options to get yourself out of difficult situations.

Gourgeist decks have unfavorable matchups against Hydreigon or Mega Absol ex decks because of their speed, consistency, and type advantage. Aim to KO a Deino as early as possible, or deal damage to Mega Absol ex for a Cyrus play later in the game.
