Bent Corner Pack Trick: Are Packs Predetermined?

Can You Identify Rare Packs - Pokemon TCG Pocket
There are theories that you can spot which booster packs have rare cards in Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket (PTCG Pocket). Find out if there is a way to identity rare packs, other pack superstitions, and whether they work here!

Is There a Way to Identify Rare Packs?

Skip Button Might Mean That Cards Are Fixed

Skip Button - Pokemon TCG Pocket
There is no definite way to tell if a pack contains a rare card since the pack opening sequence can be skipped. Since the pack animation is skippable, there is a possibility that your cards have already been decided when you chose to open a booster pack in the home menu.

Bent Corner Method

What is the Bent Corner Method?

Bent Corner Regular Corner
Bent Corner - Pokemon TCG Pocket Regular Corner

The Bent Corner theory is a method where players decide which booster pack to open based on a crease found on the upper right corner of the pack.

After selecting a booster pack from the home screen, an animation will play where you get to choose which pack you want to open. Turn each pack sideways and if you see a curled or wavy corner, then there is a high chance that pack contains a rare card.

Keep in mind that the bent corner might not always show up in pack selection.

Does it Work?

The presence of the skip button implies that the card results might be the same regardless of which pack you choose. However, we tested the Bent Corner theory, and while the findings are still inconclusive, these were our results so far:

I keep having most luck with pre-flipped packs, especially with getting new cards.

Are you sure? Because from what I have gotten from three packs (I only have used it on three packs) using the bent corner method I got insanely good cards like the venasaur ex full art, the snorlax full art, and a charizard ex normal art. So, I don’t know what people say, but I kind of think they are lying.
