Use Lisia to quickly find your Magikarp, Mantyke and Feebas. Once benched, it then becomes a matter of evolving your Pokemon as quickly as possible.
Once Magikarp has evolved into Mega Gyarados ex, use Mega Blaster every turn. Evolve Feebas into Milotic to heal 60 damage from Mega Gyarados ex using Healing Ripples.
Heavy Helmet is also an effective way of mitigating damage to Mega Gyarados ex.

Once Mega Gyarados ex is set up, you would ideally keep it in the Active Spot and keep attacking with it until you've scored three points.
Mega Blaster can also run your opponents out of options because of its added effect of discarding the top cards from your opponent's deck.

Lisia can efficiently find our Mantyke and Magikarp from the deck, allowing you a quick setup compared to only relying on Poke Balls and Professor's Research.

Mega Gyarados ex's Mega Blaster has a steep 4 Attack Cost. To achieve this, we run both Misty and Mantyke, which will help us set up Mega Gyarados ex as quickly as possible.

A single copy of Gyarados from B1 is slotted into the deck as a countermeasure to Pom-Pom Oricorio. Consider setting one up quickly if you're up against a Lightning deck.

Mantyke and Magikarp both have low HP, and can easily get KOd by a quick and efficient attacker like Hitmonchan ex.
Jirachi is a great way to KO Magikarp as soon as they get played on the Bench.

Mega Gyarados ex decks, like other Misty decks, run the chance of flipping poorly on Misty turns. While lucky heads flips can often mean a large momentum swing in our favor, an unlucky tails flip means an unproductive supporter was used for our turn.
While we do play Misty, it is important to be mindful of our Energy attachments and aim to have productive turns.

Gyarados with Mantine is so much better than Milotic. Why waste 4 slots that only slow your engine for 60 hp of healing, when you can just use Perula and the heavy helmet
