Primary Attacker | Wincon | Description |
---|---|---|
Marowak ex | Kabutops |
・Marowak ex will deal huge chunks of damage on lucky heads flips on Bonemerang. ・Kabutops makes for a win condition that's difficult to KO. |
Best Starting Hand |
---|
You would ideally have Cubone and an evolution for next turn. Dome Fossil should be benched immediately so that you can have Kabutops out as soon as possible.
Recommended Starting Hand |
---|
You can pivot to a non-ex Marowak if you don't draw into Marowak ex, which can get you a steady 40 damage. Dig for a second Cubone using Professor's Research and Poke Ball, and set it up.

Marowak ex Offense | ||
---|---|---|
The deck's main gameplan is to set up a Marowak ex with two Energy and start swinging and flipping. Use Professor's Research to get Marowak ex from your deck.
Kabutops in the end game can be frustratingly hard to take out and can often take over games. Be sure quickly remove Pokemon that can OHKO Kabutops like Mewtwo ex with its Psydrive!

Deck | Commentary |
---|---|
Pikachu ex Decks |
・Marowak ex and Kabutops are at a type advantage against Pikachu ex decks. ・Favorable point trades. |
Deck | Commentary |
---|---|
Venusaur Decks |
・Cannot trade damage favorably because of its type disadvantage against Grass. ・Cannot consistently KO Venusaur ex or Exeggutor ex. |
This deck hits hard and is clearly powerful, however its overall consistency is questionable, being reliant on lucky flips on Marowak ex's Bonemerang.
Kabutops's inevitability however, can help win games when Marowak ex is lacking.
Card | Explanation |
---|---|
Hitmonlee |
・ A second Hitmonlee can take the place of the second non-ex Marowak, allowing you the option to snipe Pokemon from the opponent's Bench. |
Card | Possible Cuts |
---|---|
Sandslash |
・ Sandslash can replace the Kabutops line, for a quicker but less threatening evolution line. |
Giovanni |
・Can boost the damage and healing of Kabutops's Leech Life, but will not help at all if Marowak flips multiple tails. |

This list makes use of a Sandslash line to deal a reliable 70 damage, with a thicker count of Hitmonlee to finish off damaged Pokemon on the Bench. One Marowak ex works as the deck's ace, while a regular non-ex Marowak works as a backup evolution for Cubone should you not have Marowak ex in-hand.
