There are no tricks that would guarantee heads or trails during a coin toss. When you toss a coin for a status effect or for bonus energy from Misty, the chances of the coin landing on heads will always be 50% regardless of how you flip it.
There are rumors on social media that flipping the coin in a certain way can make it land on heads. However, after consulting with Pokemon TCG Pocket's official AI support, we were told that the coin probability will always be 50%.
Our team also conducted our own tests using the iPhone's Switch Control function to toss the coin multiple times in the same way during a Solo Match. Although the speed, rotation, and pattern were always consistent, the results still varied.
Therefore, the coin toss cannot be directly manipulated and is likely determined by a different algorithm.
The coin flip at the start of the battle also has a 50% chance of landing on heads or tails. There are no settings or mechanics that would determine your turn order before the battle begins, but there are strategies that can help you win whether you go first or second.
