This Weavile ex variation has access to a devastating 90 damage play with Dawn.
Attach an Energy to a benched Darkrai ex, triggering Nightmare Aura dealing 20 to your opponent's Active Pokemon, then use Dawn to transfer it to your Active Weavile ex, and attack with Scratching Nails for 70. This deck can achieve this combo fairly easily.
Spiritomb, a tech card, can do 10 damage to all of your opponent's Pokemon, which gets your Cyrus online immediately.

Weavile ex and Weezing leans less on Darkrai ex, and more into Weezing and Weavile ex working in tandem.
Use Weezing to deal incremental damage using its Gas Leak Ability, and either switch out with Leaf or scoop Weezing up with Koga, into Weavile ex's Scratching Nails for 70. This one-two combo works a lot similarly to Scolipede and Weezing ex, but quicker and more consistent but for less damage.

Weavile ex Deck Strategies | |||

You would often want to attach Energy to Darkrai ex to trigger Nightmare Aura and deal 20 to your opponent's Active. Attach Energy to your benched Darkrai ex, then use Dawn to move it to your Active Weavile ex and use Scratching Nails for 70. This combo will allow you to deal 90 damage at the cost of only one Energy.
Spiritomb is an effective opening Pokemon, as it can immediately spread damage and get your Cyrus online as well as Weavile ex's damage buff.
Grass-types can deal increased damage to Weavile ex, with the most efficient Grass-type for this purpose being Exeggutor ex and its 1 Energy Tropical Swing.
Leafeon ex can also threaten KOs and damage on our Pokemon with its ability to set up fast.

Going second is always disadvantageous in Pokemon TCG Pocket. However some decks are able to break through its first turn restrictions, such as Misty decks.
A lucky Misty high roll can overwhelm a Weavile ex deck before it's able to set anything up. It simply cannot withstand an Articuno ex hitting for 80 as early as turn 2, or a turn 1 Palkia ex Dimensional Storm.

Darkrai ex players have been gravitating towards Magnezone and Greninja since Space-Time Smackdown released, with Weavile ex being a less popular Darkrai ex partner.
Weavile ex does have some impressive showings, however, whenever it does manage to break into top cuts.
A simple deck with 2 honchrows will also counter this deck.. just concentrate down the darkrai with honchrows attack.

Weavile ex + Darkrai ex deck is still better than Rampardos deck, Rampardos can win with luck but if Rampardos deck is S tier then weavile ex must be S tier too
