Deck Strengths
Pokeball Icon Skarmory can get aggressive very early as long as it has a Tool attached.

Pokeball Icon The main strategy is to pressure the enemy with Skarmory before finishing the opponent's Pokemon with Bronzong.

Pokeball Icon Magneton can accumulate Lightning energy safely in the bench until Magnezone is needed to finish off the opponent's Pokemon.
Deck Weaknesses
Pokeball Icon Bronzong takes time to setup and its damage depends on the number of energy attached to its target.

Pokeball Icon Without other sources besides Magneton's ability, Magnezone won't be able to attack once it expends all of its Lightning energy.

How to Play Bronzong Deck

Best Starting Hand

Best Starting Hand

This starting hand allows you to assault the enemy with a Tool-equipped Skarmory as soon as you attach an energy. Having the Giant Cape lets Skarmory survive for longer while you setup Bronzong on the bench.

Other Good Starting Cards

Recommended Starting Hand

In cases where you don't draw Bronzor and Bronzong for your starting hand, you can instead have Magneton charge up on the bench while Skarmory weakens your opponent. Since Skarmory only needs one energy, you can give the next Metal energy to Magneton to prepare for Magnezone's arrival.

Bronzong Deck Strategies

Send Skarmory in With a Tool

During the first turns, the ideal strategy with this Bronzong deck is to have Skarmory as your active Pokemon on setup. Once the battle starts, attach a Giant Cape or a Rocky Helmet to Skarmory to increase its survivability and Metal Arms' damage.

This combo allows you to whittle down your opponent and even take out a Pokemon or two while you prepare Bronzong and/or Magnezone on your bench.

Setup Bronzong and Magnezone for the Mid-Game

While Skarmory holds the line, attach Metal energy to Bronzong so it can be ready to attack once Skarmory falls or gets switched out. Bronzong and Magnezone are both mid-game attackers and will need to stay in the bench for at least three turns before they can unleash their potential.

Bronzong works well against Pokemon that requires multiple energy to setup, like Celebi ex, as this increases Psychic's damage.
