Bronzong and Magnezone Deck
[★ Best ★] |
Strengths:
• Skarmory can get aggressive very early as long as it has a Tool attached. • The main strategy is to pressure the enemy with Skarmory before finishing the opponent's Pokemon with Bronzong. • Magneton can accumulate Lightning energy safely in the Bench until Magnezone is needed to finish off the opponent's Pokemon. Weaknesses: • Bronzong takes time to setup and its damage depends on the number of energy attached to its target. • Without other sources besides Magneton's ability, Magnezone won't be able to attack once it expends all of its Lightning energy. |

Bronzong can punish opposing Pokemon for loading up multiple Energy using its Psychic Attack, which does additional damage for each Energy on the Defending Pokemon. It also has a 3 Colorless Attack Cost, with a setup that can be expedited by Magneton and Dawn.

Since Bronzong needs to evolve and has a steep Attack Cost, it is best to set it up in the Bench. An Energy-efficient attacker like Skarmory is good to keep in the Active Spot in the early game.

Dawn can transfer Energy from one of your Benched Pokemon to Bronzong, allowing it to use Psychic earlier. It is ideal to have Magneton, as it can generate one Energy per turn with its Ability while Benched.

You can counter Bronzong decks by securing KOs before they can set up properly. This can be done with decks that can set up quickly and immediately attack.

You can use attackers that do not have a high Attack Cost to take less damage from Psychic. Rampardos is a good counter to Bronzong, as its attack only requires one Energy. It also only gives the opponent one point after being knocked out.
