Stoutland pairs well with Espeon, since Stoutland requires the opponent to attach more Energy than they would usually need in order to attack with their Pokemon. Espeon can then use this against them, since all Energy on the opposing side will contribute to its damage output.
It is recommended to evolve Stoutland as quickly as possible. This deck has both Herdier and the Rare Candy item to help you get Lillipup to its final evolution.
This deck also runs Giratina ex as a late-game finisher and an alternative source of damage if Espeon does not have enough damage output.

Stoutland's Guard Dog Visage Ability forces your opponents to attach extra Energy to their Pokemon, while Tapu Lele punishes them for this.
All the Pokemon in the deck, including Sensu Oricorio, are single-point Pokemon. This forces your opponents to KO three Pokemon using lots of Energy to defeat you.

Rare Candy lets you set up Stoutland early, denying your opponents of an attack for the turn.

Team Rocket Grunt can deny your opponents of valuable turns where they can attack and damage your Pokemon. A successful Team Rocket Grunt can put your opponents at a highly disadvantageous situation, forcing them into disadvantageous damage trades.

Because Stoutland forces opponents have to attach extra Energy, Alolan Raichu ex can capitalize on this and deal boosted damage.
Alolan Raichu ex can deal upwards of 120 damage to Pokemon with at least 2 Energy attached.
| Opponent's Energy | Alolan Raichu ex's Damage |
|---|---|
| 2 Energy | 120 |
| 3 Energy | 150 |
| 4 Energy | 180 |
| 5 Energy | 210 |

Pom-Pom Oricorio shuts down any ex Pokemon-centric decks thanks to its Ability. This lets you set up your attackers on the sidelines without the threat of Pom-Pom Oricorio being knocked out

Since Stoutland takes time to set up, you can take advantage of this by knocking out its pre-evolutions. Sabrina and Cyrus can draw them out to the Active Spot, but you can also use cards that can damage Benched Pokemon such as Genetic Apex Hitmonlee.

Hand disruption is always great agaisnt Stage 2 decks, as it can shuffle their cards back into their deck. This can make your opponent lose access to valuable cards like Rare Candy or their evolution cards.
