Both Ninetales and Rapidash ex can be used as your attacker. Whichever you can set up quickly can be the one you use first.
Ninetales's damage output can be increased by using Blaine. This is useful in the late game when 90 damage isn't enough to knock out your opponent's Pokemon.
Rapidash ex has a greater damage output, and it can hit the opponent's Benched Pokemon. You can then use Cyrus to drag out a damaged Pokemon from your opponent's Bench and knock it out with an attack.
| Expansions | Cards to Get and Packs to Open |
|---|---|

| Spacetime Smackdown (A2) | Cyrus x 2 (Palkia Pack) |
| Triumphant Light (A2a) | No cards needed from this expansion. |
| Shining Revelry (A2b) | No cards needed from this expansion. |
| Celestial Guardians | No cards needed from this expansion. |
| Extradimensional Crisis | No cards needed from this expansion. |
| Eevee Grove | No cards needed from this expansion. |
| Wisdom of Sky and Sea | No cards needed from this expansion. |
| Secluded Springs | No cards needed from this expansion. |
| Mega Rising | Rapidash ex x 2 (Mega Blaziken Pack) Flame Patch x 2 (Mega Blaziken Pack) |
| Promo-A | X Speed x 1 (Promo-A Pack) Poke Ball x 2 (Promo-A Pack) Professor's Research x 2 (Promo-A Pack) |

Since Rapidash ex can damage the opponent's Benched Pokemon, you can use Cyrus to swap in an easy to knock-out Pokemon into your opponent's Active Spot.

Although Blaine can power up regular Rapidash, this Supporter card does not work on Rapidash ex.

Rapidash ex decks are week to Water-type Pokemon. Strong Water-types such as Mega Gyarados ex and Suicune ex should have no problem handling Rapidash ex.
