Overwhelm Your Opponent with Damage
The Water-types in the deck won't be able to keep up with the damage from a dedicated Lightning deck. Use cards like Pikachu ex from Genetic Apex and Zeraora can blitz through this deck!
Wall This Deck with Pom-Pom Oricorio
Having Pom-Pom Oricorio in the Active Spot will force the opponent to rely on Greninja to damage it. You can win this matchup easily if your opponent takes too long to set one up, or if you can quickly KO a Froakie before it evolves.
Knock Out Froakie Early
Knocking out Froakie before it evolves into Greninja can mitigate the amount of damage your opponent can dish out. Use cards like Sabrina to draw out an unprepared Froakie!

Pom-Pom Oricorio's Ability essentially shuts down any opposing ex Pokemon, which can help you set up Magnezone in your Bench.
Once set up, you can bring out Magnezone to the Active Spot and, with the help of Giant Cape, withstand any attack while easily eliminating non-ex Pokemon with its powerful 110 damage attack.
This deck runs Space-Time Smackdown Shaymin to help mitigate chip damage from Greninja. It also runs two copies each of Giant Cape and Potion to maximize survivability.

Genetic Apex Pikachu ex should be your ace in a No-Trainer Lightning deck. With a full Lightning Pokemon bench, Pikachu ex can do 90 damage for only 2 Lightning energy. Since it is also a Basic Pokemon, it can be set down really early if you have the right hand.
If you are unable to draw Pikachu ex on the 2nd Turn, you can consider surrendering then repeating the match until you do.
