Mimikyu Deck Strategy Guide

Acerola Increases Damage Output

Acerola's effect lets you move 40 damage received by Mimikyu and Palossand to an oppossing Pokemon. This increases your damage output late in the game, as you can use this alongside Giratina ex's attack which deals 130 damage, which can be enough to knock out most ex Pokemon.

Attach All Energy to Giratina ex

During your set up, Mimikyu in the Active Spot is not meant to attack, as you will be attaching all Psychic Energy to your Giratina ex in the Bench.

You should also use its Ability to get an additional Psychic Energy in a single turn, which speeds up its set up.

Once Giratina ex is ready, you can then move it into the Active Spot, use Acerola on Mimikyu to deal initial damage, then use Chaotic Impact to finish off your target.

How to Beat Mimikyu Decks

Force Out Giratina ex

Mimikyu will always be sent into the Active Spot as it needs to take damage for the Acerola card to work.

You can force Giratina ex out into the field with Sabrina or Cyrus to not only prevent Mimikyu from taking damage, but to also pressure your opponent to not use its Ability to get additional Psychic Energy and instead heal it.
