Pokemon TGC Pocket - Chien-Pao ex & Suicune ex Deck (Paldean Wonders) Deck Build and How to Play

This Expert Solo Battle guide is for the Chien-Pao ex and Suicune ex Deck from the Paldean Wonders expansion. Read on to learn about how to defeat it, counter decks, how to beat the battle tasks, and rewards.

How to Beat Chien-Pao ex and Suicune ex Expert Solo Battle

Opponent's Card List

Suicune ex ×2 Frigibax ×2 Arctibax ×1 Baxcalibur ×2
Chien-Pao ex ×2 Giant Cape ×1 Irida ×1 Rare Candy ×2
Guzma ×1 X Speed ×2 Poke Ball ×2 Professor's Research ×2
Energy Used
Water Icon

Target Frigibax Before It Evolves

Try to target Frigibax before it evolves to Baxcalibur. Baxcalibur's Ability can transfer extra Water Energy to the Active Pokemon, so try to prevent Baxcalibur's evolution to avoid getting rushed.

Stall out with Pom-Pom Oricorio

The opponent will most likely try and attack with either Suicune ex or Chien-Pao ex. You can stall out with Pom-Pom Oricorio and get your board active if they manage to get the upper hand.

Use Protective Poncho to Protect The Bench

To prevent your Pokemon from being sniped by Chien-Pao ex's Diving Icicles, you may want to consider attaching a Protective Poncho to your main attackers to nullify damage while they're on the Bench.

Use Fast Metal Pokemon

Most of the Pokemon in this deck are weak against Metal. Suicune ex and Chien-Pao ex have moves that can deal devastating damage once they are set up, so you will want to get ahead of your opponent before they have the chance to use them.

Mega Charizard Y ex ×1 Lillie ×2 Flame Patch ×2 May ×1
Copycat ×1 Protective Poncho ×2 Poke Ball ×2 Professor's Research ×2

Fire Icon

Mega Charizard Y ex is a powerful Mega Pokemon ex from Crimson Blaze that has the ability to OHKO every Pokemon in the game. It comes at the cost of recoil damage, however, so careful decision-making and analysis could prove vital when piloting this deck.

Entei ex helps you draw cards, allowing you to be more consistent in your setup, while being a decent enough attacker in the early game that is capable of knocking out 60 HP Pokemon.

This deck also runs copies of Charmeleon instead of Rare Candy, because of its Ignition Ability being able to accelerate Energy to your Active Pokemon. This makes the deck even more consistent.

Protective Poncho is added into this deck to protect your Benched Pokemon from Chien-Pao ex snipes.

Mega Rising Golurk

Golett x2 Golurk x2 Poke Ball x1 Professor's Research x2
Iono x1 Non-Basic Pokemon with 3+ Retreat Cost x12
Energy Used
Fighting Icon

This is a flexible deck that revolves around Mega Rising Golurk and its Heavy Rocket attack which can deal up to 180 Damage with only 2 Energy.

The 2 Golett should be the only Basic Pokemon of this deck, and there are 4 Supporters to help you look for the Golurk for evolution.

Since the core consists of only 8 cards, the other 12 cards of the deck can be filled up with different Pokemon from the Paldean Wonders Expansion, fulfilling the requirements of the Battle Task.

Just make sure to only add Stage 1 and Stage 2 Pokemon so that you are guaranteed a Golett in your starting hand and with Poke Ball. Additionally, only add those with Retreat Costs of 3 or more to empower Golurk's Heavy Rocket.

As a bonus, you can add or remove Mega Evolution ex cards as needed to fulfill other Battle Tasks.
