Most Water Pokemon cards focus on getting more resources on the field and denying your opponents to build their board like with the Misty Trainer Card giving you a ton of Water Energy or Gyarados removing Energy from the opponent.
Water Type Cards are usually weak to Grass and Lightning Type Cards, make sure to swap your deck out to have either neutral or type advantage.
Water Type Pokemon are the best counters to Fire type decks since their nuke strats get easily dismantled if they don't have the resources to get to that point.
