Secure Points With Stormy Prison

Kingdra ex's Stormy Prison prevents its target from Retreating for only 2 Water Energy. At 90 damage per hit, Kingdra ex can knock out most Pokemon in 2 turns, assuming the target doesn't have HP bonuses and is not healed in between.

This attack can easily secure a KO, especially in the early game, and can completely disrupt decks that rely heavily on more than one Pokemon.

Have 2 Kingdra ex Up With the Help of Sylveon ex

Due to its low damage output, Kingdra ex might not be able to completely shut down the opponent and might even get overwhelmed instead, come mid-game.

Make sure to have 2 Kingdra ex in play as early as possible so the other can tag in when necessary. The drawing abilities of Eevee and Sylveon ex can help thin out your deck in search of the cards that you need!

How to Beat Kingdra ex Decks

Wall It with Pom-Pom Oricorio

With Kingdra ex as the deck's only attacker, Pom-Pom Oricorio can effortlessly shut down this deck by nullifying Kingdra ex's attacks as well as exploiting its weakness to Lightning.

Other Lightning-type Cards with high HP like Lanturn ex can also be used to exchange hits with Kingdra ex without having to retreat.
