The main way to get Shinedust in the game is by getting duplicates of cards you already own. Duplicate cards can be obtained by a number of different methods, which are explained below.
The following table shows how much Shinedust you will get each time you obtain a duplicate card of each rarity.

You will get Shinedust regardless of the rarity of the duplicate, so opening packs from the new set and obtaining duplicates this way is one of the easiest ways to consistently obtain Shinedust.
Initially, you won't get as much Shinedust as you will be collecting cards for the first time in a new set, but as you open packs or choose from Wonder Picks and get more duplicates, you will slowly amass Shinedust.

Having a card shared to you that you already own will allow you to receive Shinedust. A card's rarity determines how much Shinedust you can get.
Having a friend or alt account to share ex cards back and forth with daily is an effective way to farm Shinedust. Do note that you can only receive shares once per day, capping you at 720 Shinedust a day from sharing.
You can share 1-4◇ rarity cards, but sharing duplicate ex cards (4◇) will earn you the most Shinedust, earning you a total of 720.
How to Share Cards: Share Feature Guide

You can also farm Shinedust by trading, but it is an inefficient method to do so. While you may earn Shinedust from receiving duplicates this way, you'll spend Trading Stamina just to do so. Especially when trading ◇◇◇ and higher rarities you'll also be spending Shinedust on the trade, likely leaving you at a net loss.

One effective way to get extra Shinedust in a pinch, is buying duplicates of Trainer cards available in the Main Ticket Shop.
You can buy Trainer cards in bulk. This can be a quick way to get Shinedust if you are willing to part with your Shop Tickets.
Each card in the shop is worth 2 Shop Tickets, which means that each card you buy will result in 20 Shinedust.
This method is best done after first buying all the shop hourglasses, making sure to save some for a shop restock. You should also be careful when spending all of them especially if you intend to purchase other shop items such as backdrops or special shop tickets.
As a reminder, you can earn Shop Tickets from completing Solo Battle Missions, and up to 5 Shop Tickets every day by receiving Thanks for Wonder Picks, Battles , and Likes on your Showcase.

How to Get and Use Shop Tickets

You can earn Shinedust by purchasing duplicate cards with Pack Points in the Pack Point Exchange section of the menu. This can be used on the newest current set or previous sets.
It is best to spend on 3◇ cards for the most dust, since they cost 150 pack points, and give you 240 Shinedust per duplicate. While this is the best-costing way to farm duplicates using Pack Points, it is still recommended that you save your Pack Points and use them on cards that you need.

Wonder Pick is another way to obtain duplicates. This costs Wonder Stamina, with picks including rarer cards costing more.
This farming method is not as efficient as others, but can still get you Shinedust if you're aiming to find duplicates.
How to Use the Wonder Pick Feature

Some Events feature ex Pokemon that you can obtain duplicates of, scoring you lots of Shinedust in the process. These events also run high chances of getting you duplicates of Promo Cards.
All New and Upcoming Events Schedule

During Wonder Pick Events, you can obtain Event Shop Tickets by clearing event missions. You can use these tickets to purchase exclusive cosmetic items in the in-game shop.
More importantly, you can spend Event Shop Tickets on Shinedust in the shop, with each Ticket getting you 50 Shinedust. If you're not too interested in cosmetics, consider spending your Event Shop Tickets on Shinedust instead.
Be sure to frequently check your Wonder Picks during these events!

Completing Solo Missions for the first time allows you to obtain some Shinedust as a first time reward.
Clearing the Missions can also get you Shop Tickets, which you can use to purchase duplicate Trainer cards in the shop, which would also result in you obtaining Shinedust.

Completing Achievements will earn you an amount of Shinedust based on which kind of trophy you unlock. The Achievement Rewards are the same regardless of which achievement you complete. They will always give a set amount of Shinedust, depending on which trophy you unlock.
While these can only be obtained once, you can complete them over time by obtaining cards through Packs, Wonder Picks, and Shares, as well as by Sharing cards and Battling.

Shinedust replaces Trade Tokens as the new trading currency.
Previously, Trade Tokens were required to trade cards of 3◇, 4◇, and 1☆ rarity. Now, players will no longer need to exchange duplicate cards for Trade Tokens to obtain these rarities.
Players can exchange any of their remaining Trade Tokens for Shinedust in the shop.
Different card rarities will require varying amounts of Shinedust to trade. Trade Tokens are no longer usable after this change.

Shinedust is a form of currency that you can trade in to give your Cards extra effects, which are called Flairs.
When applied on a card, these will imbue your card with special effects that you can view when sending them out to battle or just from your collection.
Cards from Mega Rising (B1) onwards will no longer make use of Shinedust as currency for Flairs, however, and will shift to Flairs being obtainable after getting 10 duplicates of a card.
All Flair Animations and Effects
You need a ton of Shinedust if you want to unlock all four Flairs for two copies of the same card that you can include in a deck.
Duplicates won't be needed for Flair anymore, compared to previous updates.
