This Expert Solo Battle guide is for the Alolan Raichu ex and Oricorio Deck from the Celestial Guardians expansion. Read on to learn about how to defeat it, counter decks, how to beat the battle tasks, and rewards.

Use Fighting Pokemon with 2 Energy or Less
The Lightning Pokemon in this solo battle are weak to Fighting types, so using Fighting Pokemon with low Attack Costs can counter their quick set-ups.
It is best to use Pokemon with 2 energy or less to prevent Alolan Raichu ex from getting any damage boosts.
Fighting Pokemon like Primeape and Sandslash are good for knocking out Pokemon in the early game. Marshadow will deal 120 damage if one of your Pokemon is defeated in the previous turn—making it a must-have for most Fighting decks.
Force Pokemon into the Active Spot
Cards like Sabrina and Cyrus both have abilities that can force a Pokemon from the Bench into the Active Spot. Use them strategically to land more direct attacks on unprepared Pokemon.
If you are using an Araquanid deck, bring Lana who can let you choose which of your opponent's Pokemon to switch in.

Araquanid and Palkia ex can cover both your bases by countering Raichu ex and Oricorio.
This deck uses Lana who works like Cyrus, which lets you decide which of your opponent's Pokemon to put on the Active Spot. You can easily KO Oricorio with Araquanid, and then switch to Palkia ex to take out Alolan Raichu ex.

All Pokemon in this deck use 2 or less energy, which counters Alolan Raichu ex's special move.
Primeape is used as the main attacker, dealing 50 damage for only one energy. Lucario acts as support, boosting damage to all Fighting-type Pokemon. This effect can stack if you have two Lucarios.
Primeape's damage can be boosted further with a Red trainer card.
The Pokemon in this deck all have low HP, so you can replace Rocky Helmet with Giant Cape to increase their survivability. However, if your Pokemon do get KO'd, you can use Marshadow to deal a 120 damage revenge hit.
