| Luxray Deck Variants | Strengths and Weaknesses |
|---|---|
Luxray Deck
[★ Best ★] |
Strengths:
• Has access to powerful single-point Pokemon. • Good Energy acceleration and point trades. Weaknesses: • May struggle if the deck does not get its ideal start. |
Luxray and Magnezone Deck
|
Strengths:
• Magneton can build its own Energy in the Bench so you can focus all your turn-by-turn Energy on Shinx. • Magnezone can discard energy and then recycled with Volkner onto Luxray. • Luxray can snipe Pokemon in the Bench. Weaknesses: • Struggles against decks that can quickly set-up like Exeggutor ex. • Can struggle against aggressive Fighting-type decks. • Extremely slow to get going. |
Pikachu ex and Luxray Deck
|
Strengths:
• This Pikachu ex has a high-damage Thunderbolt that can be used as a finisher. • Volkner can provide Luxray with Energy after it is discarded. Weaknesses: • Both aces discard their energy, which can leave them reliant on Volkner. • Pikachu ex can easily be KOd for an easy 2 points. |

Both versions of Luxray are played in this deck, with both options being equally effective. Space-Time Smackdown Luxray has a higher Attack Cost, but can damage any Pokemon on your opponent's side, while Mega Rising Luxray can do a solid 110 damage for only 2 Energy.
Pom-Pom Oricorio and Zeraora are also in this deck, because these two Lightning-types both offer you utility, with Pom-Pom Oricorio being able to wall ex Pokemon, and Zeraora being a strong starter.

Because you run two Stage 2 lines in the deck, starting with Druddigon would always be ideal.
This deck also has a limited number of Trainer Cards, with most of the deck comprising of Pokemon. This means that your options on your turn are limited.
Because of its deck composition, this deck is unlikely to be consistent. However, it offers fun and unique lines of play that other, more competitive decks may not have. Consider trying this fun deck in Random Matches.

This deck uses Pikachu ex's Thunderbolt to secure KOs against strong opponents. Volkner is used to transfer the discarded energy from Thunderbolt to Luxray, who can take the remaining points.

The main strategy of this deck is to stall with Druddigon while you focus on building energy for your eventual Luxray and Magnezone. If your opponent plays Sabrina, you can also stall with Shinx's Hide.

Genetic Apex's Magneton has an ability called Volt Charge which lets you generate more Lightning Energy for the user. Use Volt Charge to generate as much energy as you can before evolving to Magneton, since Magneton's Thunderblast will discard 2 Energy after its use.

Volkner can transfer 2 discarded Lightning Energy to Luxray. After Luxray loses all its energy from Volt Bolt, Volkner can be used to accelerate its energy generation—allowing it to be used again by the next turn.

Aerodactyl ex's ability prevents the opponent from evolving its Active Pokemon. If you use Sabrina or Cyrus to bring Shinx or Magnemite into the Active Spot, you can prevent them from evolving.
Aerodactyl ex Deck Strategy Guide and Card List

The main attackers for the Luxray Deck are both 2-Stage Pokemon and weak to Fighting-Types. Using a fast fighting type deck like Donphan or Lucario ex would be the best option for defeating the deck.
