・Focus on building Magnezone in Bench while funneling your energy to Luxray. ・Strategy relies on Genetic Apex Magneton's Ability. |

Start off the battle with Drudiggon with a Rocky Helmet up first and have Shinx and Magnemite in your Bench. If you're going second, you can opt for Shinx and hope the coin flips are in your favor.
On your next turn, evolve Magnemite into Magneton and start getting energy onto it while funneling all your turn-by-turn energy on Shinx.

If you start off with no Magnemite, try to get more cards with either Professor's Research or Pokemon Communications. Try to stall out with either Drudiggon or Shinx if you're unlucky.

The main strategy of this deck is to stall out with Druddigon while you focus on building energy for your eventual Luxray and Magnezone. If your opponent plays Sabrina, you can also stall out with Shinx's Hide.
![]() ![]() |
Genetic Apex's Magneton has the Ability Volt Charge which lets you generate more Lightning Energy for it. This synergizes well with Magnezone since it discards an Energy when it attacks.
![]() ![]() |
Luxray is the main focus of this deck as it can be used to attack weakened Pokemon on your opponent's bench. Luxray's steep Energy discard cost can be easily mitigated since Volkner can put two back onto Luxray.

![]() Tanky Water Decks |
・Magneton can help match the advantage Misty and Manaphy can generate. ・Can snipe weakened Pokemon in your opponent's Bench |
Deck | Commentary |

![]() Aerodactyl ex Decks |
・Aerodactyl ex can slot in Cyrus or Sabrina to get your Magnemite or Shinx in your Active Zone, making it impossible to evolve them. |
Although the deck has extremely high damage potential, the deck is very slow and relies on two Stage 2 Pokemon making it difficult to search for Key cards.
Moreover, even if the deck's attacks can OHKO a lot of regular Pokemon, the damage is not enough for meta ex cards like Gyarados ex or Palkia ex despite the type advantage.
Card | Explanation |
---|---|
![]() Electivire |
・ Stage 1 Pokemon that can outpace Luxray. ・ Higher energy cost but can be offset with Magnezone and Space-Time Smackdown Electabuzz. |
![]() Dedenne |
・ Has a cheaper retreat cost than Drudiggon letting you save points from your opponent. ・ Not as tanky as Drudiggon, but can prove to be just as effective if you're lucky. |
Card | Possible Cuts |
---|---|
![]() Electivire Line |
![]() ![]() ![]() ・ Can also slot in Leaf to retreat Drudiggon for no cost. ・ Higher energy cost than Luxray, but does not discard Energy. ・ Has to tank a few hits as Electabuzz, so it can use Charge to attack for more Energy. |
![]() Dedenne |
![]() ・ Can lock your opponent from attacking and retreating their Active Pokemon. ・ Requires coin flips making it luck-reliant. |

This deck can be just as good as the Luxray variant, but can face some issues wiith managing the Retreat Cost of Drudiggon and Electivire.
While Leaf can alleviate some of its issues, it will lock you out of using Volkner for your turn. Electabuzz also needs to be able to tank a few hits since it needs to attack with Charge.
