Lucario ex and Lucario Deck
[★ Best ★] |
Strengths:
• Lucario ex can quickly be set up and deal damage. • Lucario can power up Lucario EX, and having both cards reduces the chance of Riolu not being evolved. • Lucario ex can dish out damage to the opponent's Bench, potentially knocking out two Pokemon with one attack. Weaknesses: • Lucario ex's three energy 100 damage is not enough to knock out most ex Pokemon. • Weak against Giratina ex decks. • Has a hefty 2 Retreat Cost. |

Sudowoodo can be used as an early game attacker while Lucario ex is being set up in the Bench. Lucario acts as their support, boosting their attacks using its Ability.

Sudowoodo is your ideal starter which can use Fighting Headbutt for only 1 energy. If the opponent's active pokemon is an ex Pokemon you can deal 50 damage.
Setting up Lucario ex would be your priority while Sudowoodo is exerting early-game offensive pressure. Once you set up Lucario ex you can dish out damage to the opponent's active Pokemon and their bench.

Aura Sphere only does 100 damage, so it may be useful to increase its damage. The non-ex Lucario provides support by boosting the attacks of your Fighting-type Active Pokemon with its Ability.
Trainer cards like Rocky Helmet and Red can also increase the damage that Lucario ex can do.

Lucario ex has a disadvantage against Psychic-type Pokemon that can knock it out in one move. The likes of Mewtwo ex and Giratina ex fulfill this criteria in addition to being able to survive one Lucario-boosted Aura Sphere.
Best Psychic Type Deck and Cards Tier List

Lucario ex requires a bit of setup, so it may be good to stop it before it can unleash its attack. Sabrina and Cyrus can draw Riolu or Lucario ex out to the Active Spot while still unprepared, but you can also use cards that can damage Benched Pokemon such as Genetic Apex Hitmonlee.
