Garchomp and Cynthia Deck Icon Garchomp and Cynthia Deck
[★ Best ★]
Strengths:
• Garchomp has a built-in consistency engine in Reckless Shearing.
• Synergizes with Cynthia, which is able to buff Garchomp's damage and score important KOs.
• Two Energy is an efficient cost for an Attack, provided it has the correct Energy types attached.
Weaknesses:
• May be inconsistent because of its Attack Cost that costs two different Energy.
• Makes use of Stage 2 Pokemon, which may require multiple turns to set up.
Garchomp and Mantyke Deck Icon Garchomp and Mantyke Deck
[★ New ★]
Strengths:
• Mantyke removes the need for getting Water Energy from the Energy Zone.
• Using Garchomp ex is an option if Mantyke is not drawn on the first turn.
Weaknesses:
• May take time to set up when Rare Candy isn't drawn.

This deck makes use of Druddigon in the early to mid game as a wall to protect your Benched Gibles. Have Gible sit on the Bench until it is ready to evolve and attack as Garchomp.

Use Cynthia for scoring big KOs on an ex, and Irida to keep your Dragons healthy.

This deck revolves around using Mantyke to generate Water Energy for Garchomp. This allows Garchomp to set up more smoothly, and removes the need to wait for Water Energy in the Energy Zone.

Garchomp ex is used as an alternative attacker if the player does not draw Mantyke on the first turn. While Garchomp ex cannot make use of Cynthia's damage boost, it can still be useful when targeting Benched Pokemon.

Garchomp Deck Strategy Guide

Druddigon Stall

Druddigon is the best starter for this deck as it can deal passive damage with its Rough Skin Ability. Keep Druddigon active for as long as you need until Gible is set up into Garchomp.

Use Reckless Shearing for Card Advantage

Garchomp's Reckless Shearing allows you to go through the cards in your deck, which is especially useful because of TCG Pocket's low deck count of 20. The card selection Reckless Shearing offers lets you go through your deck and find the cards you need.

How to Beat Garchomp Decks

Faster Setup and Offense

Decks that can easily take out Gible and Druddigon are difficult to go up against. Garchomp and Cynthia Decks typically shine against decks that take lots of turns to set up. This means it may struggle against quicker and more aggressive decks.

Use Hitmonlee to Attack Around Druddigon

Hitmonlee can attack around the likes of Druddigon with Stretch Kick sniping your Benched Gible. This also sets them up for a future KO with Cyrus.

Been running the Mantyke variety, and it's been serving me super well in ranked! Biggest change I made was to add a single Energy Switch; being able to evolve to Garchomp early to empty out the deck, and then later pass it water energy, has made it so much more consistent for me. There's just nothing as satisfying as a turn 3 Garchomp taking down a Suicune thanks to a Cynthia draw!

Energy types says dragon, but I'm thinking it should be water and fighting for Garchomp's attack; unless you're using a fire energy too for Druddigon's attack.
