Some cards do not necessarily ramp Energy, but allow you to transfer them to other Pokemon, making you more efficient and flexible with your Energy attachments.

Magneton is a Stage 1 Pokemon that ramps Energy on its own with Volt Charge. This makes it so you can commit your attachment for the turn to another Pokemon while Magneton sits on the Bench. You can then evolve into Magnezone once it has enough Energy, and start attacking for 110 Damage with Thunder Blast.

Mantyke is a great inclusion to Water decks because of its ability to ramp Water Energy to a Benched Pokemon. It comes with the restriction of being only able to attach to Basic Pokemon, however.

Genetic Apex Magneton, Leafeon ex, and Giratina ex are all capable of generating energy regardless of the deck's set energy type, which makes them very versatile and applicaple to a variety of decks.
