The Pokemon TCG Pocket Team has announced changes to the trading feature coming this Autumn 2025 to Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket (PTCG Pocket). Read on to learn more about the changes announced for trading!

Pokemon TCG Pocket Team Announces Trading Updates

Coming Autumn of 2025

The Pokemon TCG Pocket team has released an announcement about the changes that they are planning to make to the trading feature. This was released in Pokemon TCG Pocket's official X account and in the official community forum of the game. It will be released on Autumn 2025, which may mean we can see updates around October or November.

Changes Implemented According to Community Feedback

Back in February 1, 2025, the Pokemon TCG Pocket official account made an announcement that they were looking to improve the trading system based on player feedback. While the previous trading system restrictions were made to prevent bots and Terms of Use Violations, it has raised many concerns about its cost and inconvenience. These new changes were made in response to this feedback.

Free Gift of 500 Trade Tokens

Trading Token Gift

Following the announcement, the development team has sent 500 Trade Tokens, which can be claimed from the gift menu. This can be used to trade for one card of 4◇ rarity or four cards of 3◇ rarity.

Trading Feature Update

Removal of Trade Tokens

Trade Tokens, which were previously required to trade cards of 3◇, 4◇, and 1☆ rarity, will be removed from the game. Players no longer need to exchange copies of their cards in order to obtain them.

Pokemon TCG Pocket Trading Board

Shinedust as New Trading Currency

Trading cards of 3◇, 4◇, and 1☆ rarity will now require Shinedust as a currency. Shinedust can currently be obtained by obtaining a card that the player has already registered in their Card Dex. The Trade Tokens that players already have can be exchanged for Shinedust after the update. Since Shinedust is also required to obtain Flairs, they are looking into increasing the amount offered.

They have also announced that they are developing a feature that allows the player to share the cards they are interested in trading for. Additionally, they are also looking into how to accomodate higher rarity and promo cards, which are currently unavailable for trades.
