List of Contents
| Shiinotic Deck Variants | Strengths and Weaknesses |
|---|---|
Mega Absol ex and Dusknoir
[★ New ★] |
Strengths:
• Mega Absol ex becomes very difficult to KO thanks to Dusknoir's Shadow Veil Ability that can transfer over damage. • Inexpensive Attack in Darkness Claw, which can 2HKO most ex Pokemon. • Darkness Claw can be disruptive if it can discard a Supporter card from your opponent's hand. Weaknesses: • Mega Absol ex has low HP compared to other Mega ex Pokemon. |
|
Strengths:
• Dragonite ex can do a huge 180 damage with Giga Impact at the cost of not being able to Attack the following turn. • Shiinotic makes the deck much more consistent with its Illuminate Ability. Weaknesses: • Dragonite ex must always miss a turn of attacking after using Giga Impact. • Reliant on only Dragonite ex for damage, and will get easily walled by Pom-Pom Oricorio. |
|
Solgaleo ex and Shiinotic
|
Strengths:
• Solgaleo ex can easily switch itself into the Active Spot using its Rising Road Ability. • Sol Breaker does 120 damage for only two Energy. • Shiinotic makes the deck much more consistent with its Illuminate Ability. Weaknesses: • May stuggle against Pom-Pom Oricorio decks because of a lack of effective non-ex attackers. • Heavily reliant on Solgaleo ex for damage. |
Magnezone and Shiinotic Deck
|
Strengths:
• Magnezone is an excellent single point attacker that can be quickly charged up by its pre-evolution, Magneton from Genetic Apex. • Shiinotic makes the deck much more consistent with its Illuminate Ability. • Pom-Pom Oricorio is immune to any attacks from ex Pokemon thanks to its Ability. Weaknesses: • Reliant on only Magnezone for damage, and will require you to set up two Magnezones each game. • Does not have access to Leaf or X Speed to help Pokemon retreat. |
Shiinotic and Nidoking Deck
|
Strengths:
• Shiinotic makes the deck much more consistent with its Illuminate Ability. • Nidoking and Nidoqueen in the deck are synergistic Weaknesses: • Runs multiple Stage 2 lines which could make it inconsistent. |

Mega Absol ex becomes very hard to KO because of Dusknoir's Shadow Veil, which removes all damage from it and transfers it to Dusknoir.
Giant Cape ensures that Dusknoir survives taking up to 140 damage from Shadow Veil, allowing you multiple uses of the Ability.
Lisia helps you find all your low-HP Basics, while Shiinotic helps you thin out your deck and find important evolution cards.

Solgaleo ex can be set up quickly thanks to Shiinotic and its Illuminate Ability which searches for a random Pokemon from your deck.
By keeping the Pokemon list small and compact, you increase the odds of getting necessary cards to have a Solgaleo ex ready.
This deck gets Leftovers from Eevee Grove, which can keep Solgaleo ex healthy and out of KO range from even Charizard ex.

Shiinotic is played with Magnezone in this deck as a means to get Magneton and Magnezone into your hand as quickly as possible.
Pom-Pom Oricorio can work as a wall and a win-condition against decks that are not prepared to go up against Safeguard.

Shiinotic helps get all the evolution cards necessary to set up Nidoking and Nidoqueen.
Nidoking serves as the deck's primary attacker, with Poison Horn dealing 80 and inflicting Poison. Nidoqueen is the deck's backup attacker that can deal a total of 150 damage with Lovestrike.
This deck runs a thin count of Trainer cards, using only what's necessary. This includes Rare Candy to speed up your setup and Lillie to heal up your Stage 2s.

Shiinotic's Illuminate can search your deck for a random Pokemon. By keeping your Pokemon list tight, Illuminate becomes even more effective, finding only 'hits'.
It is also always important to find Rare Candy as quickly as possible, and save it for after you have used Illuminate.

Shiinotic's ex partners are able to take over games once they are set up. Use these ex Pokemon to dominate your opponents and create an advantage that's difficult to overcome!

Shiinotic decks typically sacrifice flexibility for consistency. Though they may set up their aces more effectively, they may likely not have answers for Pokemon like Pom-Pom Oricorio, whose Safeguard Ability walls ex Pokemon.

Shiinotic has a hefty 2 Retreat Cost. While some decks have ways to get it out of the Active Spot such as Solgaleo ex with its Rising Road, other decks will need to spend resources to get it out.
Use Sabrina or Cyrus to put trap Shiinotic in the Active Spot.
