Using Baby Pokemon like Pichu, Magby, or Mantyke, you can generate a different type energy which you can place on Altaria to boost its damage.
If you have the First Turn, you will not get any energy from the Energy Zone during the initial start of the battle. However, since Baby Pokemon do not need energy to use their moves, you can use them to place energy on your Pokemon even during the First Turn.
If you have Altaria on the Bench during this time, you can get Altaria to deal 100 damage as early as the second turn. This will completely destroy your opponent's early game set-up.
Darkrai ex can be used as a secondary attacker and an additional damage booster. If you place energy on Darkrai ex, its ability will deal an additional 20 damage on the opponent's Active Pokemon.

Using Baby Pokemon can help generate a different energy type for Altaria without risking your deck's energy consistency. If you manage to place down a Baby Pokemon during the First Turn start of the game, you can use its move to immediately generate energy for Altaria. This allows Altaria to start hitting 100 damage as early as the second turn.
Cards That Don't Need Energy to Attack

Altaria is very strong during the early game, but its damage output may struggle to compete once it reaches the late game. It is best to bring cards like Red or Giovanni who can boost Altaria's damage during critical moments.

Baby Pokemon have low HP, and even after being switched out, there are still ways for you to force them into the Active Spot.
If there aren't any other Bench cards, you can use Sabrina to bring the Baby Pokemon back to the Active Spot.
You can also use Pokemon that can damage the Bench like Lucario ex or Zebstrika for easy OHKOs.
Cards That Can Damage the Bench

Altaria can be KO'd quite easily by most ex Pokemon. Using Pokemon who can be built fast and hit hard like Solgaleo ex or Giratina ex can sweep Altaria.
