Use Energy-Efficient Grass-Type Pokemon

You may counter Garchomp ex by using Grass-types for the Type advantage. You may use strong yet Energy-efficient ex Pokemon such as Exeggutor ex and Celebi ex to attack as soon as possible. Another option is to use Meowscarada since it is an effective counter to ex Pokemon.

Have Healing Cards Ready

Garchomp ex and Hitmonlee can attack your Benched Pokemon, which would allow Cyrus to switch them in from the Bench to your Active Spot. Have healing cards ready to prevent unprepared Pokemon from being switched in.

Exeggutor ex can exert offensive pressure in the early game by doing 40 to 80 damage for only a single Energy. Once it has dealt enough damage, switch in Meowscarada to take out exs that are in its KO range.
