Energy Used

Skeledirge can work both as an attacker and a supporting Pokemon. It can use its Ability to increase the damage of any allied Fire-type Pokemon.

Flareon ex is used to OHKO threats that have higher HP. With the help of both the Training Area and Skeledirge's Ability, it can deal up to 190 damage.

If you start on the first turn, you may use Magby to accelerate Energy. The Flame Patch can also be used to get a discarded Energy when needed.

Skeledirge Deck Strategy Guide

Increase the Damage of Allied Pokemon

Skeledirge's Ability, Passionate Voice, can increase the damage of allied Fire-type Pokemon by 50. It can use it on itself to deal 120 damage.

You may also use this Ability on Pokemon who have a higher damage output. Skeledirge synergizes well with Flareon ex, who can deal up to 180 damage with the support of Passionate Voice.

Accelerate Energy

Skeledirge needs Energy to discard in order to use its Ability. You may accelerate its Energy using cards such as Magby and Flame Patch.

How to Beat Skeledirge Decks

Use Fast and Powerful Pokemon

You may KO Skeledirge and its allies early to prevent your Pokemon from getting knocked out. You may do this with Pokemon that have high damage outputs and low Attack Costs.

Mega Blaziken ex is a fairly good counter, as it is bulky enough to survive most attacks that are boosted by Skeledirge's Ability.

Increase HP or Reduce Damage

Skeledirge can help its allies OHKO Pokemon with high HP. In order to prevent your opponent from scoring, you may use cards that increase your HP or reduce the damage your Pokemon take. This will keep you out of KO range.

Discard Skeledirge's Energy

Skeledirge needs Energy in order to use its Ability. You may discard its Energy in order to prevent it from buffing itself or its allies.

Bring Skeledirge to the Active Spot

To KO Skeledirge or to discard its Energy, you may need to bring it to the Active Spot. You may use Sabrina or Cyrus in order to bring it out from the Bench.
