Exeggutor ex can absorb damage thanks to its sturdy 160 HP, while dishing out 40-80 damage every turn for only one Energy. This Pokemon can stay in the active spot while the other Pokemon on the Bench get set up for the late game.

・Pikachu ex decks will struggle to 2HKO Venusaur ex decks, while being susceptible to 2HKOs themselves. |

---|---|
Blaine Decks |
・Blaine decks pack enough firepower to threaten Venusaur ex and Exeggutor ex. ・The deck's speed may be difficult to compete with. |
The Venusaur ex and Exeggutor ex deck's biggest strength is Venusaur ex's inevitability and ability to take over games that it is present in. Very few Pokemon in Genetic Apex can reliably OHKO or even 2HKO the exs in the deck, making it the best defensive deck available.
This deck excels at being a Battle Cruiser type deck, which aims to weather its opponents offense and take over the game once they've run out of resources.
Card | Explanation |
---|---|
Venusaur |
・ An inexpensive alternative is the non-ex Venusaur, which is sufficiently tanky. |
Exeggutor |
・ Additional non-ex Exeggutor can also be good, as it can serve the same purpose as Exeggutor ex without giving up the extra point. |
Card | Possible Cuts |
---|---|
Sabrina |
・ A well-placed Sabrina can mean the difference in point trades. This can be the deck's tech card of choice instead of Red Card. |
Giovanni |
・ Giovanni can also replace Red Card as a tech, which lets the Pokemon in the deck an extra 10 damage, which couild matter in some situations. |
Lilligant |
・ Liligant can ramp up Venusaur ex and help it set up quicker than it would with just regular Energy attachments. |

The deck's Trainer suite remains similar, with only Erika as a non-promo essential.
