This deck focuses solely on Venusaur ex's evolution line, with the Trainer Cards there to provide support. Venusaur ex has exceptional bulk and healing, being able to survive strong attacks while

Venusaur ex is difficult to stop because of its bulk and healing. You may further increase its bulk by equipping it with the Giant Cape.

You can make Venusaur ex more difficult to KO by healing it with Trainer Cards. Since it is a Grass-type Pokemon, Erika is able to heal 50 damage from it.
HP Recovery and Healing Cards List

You can counter Venusaur ex with Pokemon that can both survive a Mega Drain and knock it out quickly. Genetic Apex Charizard ex is an ideal counter as it is the only Pokemon that can OHKO Venusaur ex.

You may also counter Venusaur ex by knocking it out before it can enact its strategy. This can be done with decks that can set up quickly and immediately attack.

Second weakness of the deck is how vital every single card is. Since at their max evolutions both cards in the deck are ex's, you can only really lose one main card in the mid-late game or two in the early. Since venusaur needs 4 energy to start performing and 3 turns of evolution, if the bulbasaur you're investing in gets knocked out at any moment or yoy're forced to put one into the active slot you lose so much. It's a good deck if it sets up but it's so easy to cripple.

After Celestial Guardians, I've been playing around with new cards, and think I've found a consistent deck. Pokemon: 2x Bulbasaur, 1x Ivysaur, 2x Venusaur ex, 2x Shaymin (STS) Items: 2x Potion, 2x Poke Ball, 1x Rare Candy Tools: 2x Leaf Cape Supporters: 2x Professor's Research, 2x Erika, 2x Lillie Another deck I used was nearly identical but traded 2x Potions and 2x Shaymins for 2x Jigglypuff (Promo) and 2x Wigglytuff (SR). 1x Guzma instead of a Potion could be good, haven't tried it
