Marowak ex functions as an early and mid game attacker that can inflict a good amount of damage while setting Kabutopsup on the Bench. Upon switching in, Kabutops can be incredibly difficult to take out if the opponent doesn't do a one-hit KO, making it an effective late game Pokemon.

This deck list leans more into Kabutops and setting it up. It makes use of Druddigon as well as Kangaskhan as early-game walls, letting you find and set up Dome Fossil on the Bench.
Kabutops and its Leech Life Attack is made even more effective with Supporters that increase your damage such as Red and Giovanni, which are both in the deck.

Kabutops's Leech Life heals HP equal to the amount of damage it deals. This allows it to heal 50 damage every time it uses Leech Life.

Cards that can increase Kabutops' damage are valuable to have. Red can help increase your damage by 20, while Giovanni can increase it by 10. Both of these cards will also increase the amount of damage you heal from Kabutops.

Dome Fossil only has 40 HP. This allows it to easily get KOd by Pokemon that can do 50 damage on their first turn. Use cards like Sabrina and Cyrus to draw it out into the Active Spot and knock it out.

With the deck's ability to consistently heal damage, it becomes important that you OHKO Kabutops in one turn. This invalidates their healing options and strategies.
