Tank and Damager | Main Offense | Description |
---|---|---|
Zapdos ex | Eelektross |
・Zapdos ex can get out on T1 and can deal damage while you evolve Tynamo to Eelektross on the Bench. ・Eelektross can deal damage and may Paralyze the opponent at the same time, making it unable to attack while you continuously deal damage. |
Best Starting Hand |
---|
The best starting hand would be to immediately have Zapdos ex and a Tynamo to set up the board easily.
Have Zapdos ex on your active zone and prepare your Potion cards to heal it.
Recommended Starting Hand |
---|
In the case where you didn't get a Zapdos ex or a Tynamo on your starting hand, you can use the Poke Ball and Professor's Research Trainer cards to draw into them so you can set your board.

Protect Eelektross with Zapdos ex | ||
---|---|---|
To start the setup, get Zapdos ex as your Active Pokémon while building up Tynamo, eventually evolving it into Eelektrik. If you draw a poor starting hand, use Trainer cards like Poké Ball or Professor's Research to search for essential cards.
Once Eelektross is fully charged with Energy, switch it in for Zapdos ex right away. With each attack, you'll have a chance to inflict Paralysis on your opponent's Pokémon through a coin toss, stunning your opponent.
Key Card(s) Required | |
---|---|
Step | Description |
1 | Have your Zapdos ex take on the lead and set up your Tynamo at the bench. |
2 | Use essential cards such as the Poké Ball or Professor's Research cards to draw the required cards for setup. |
Key Card(s) Required | |
---|---|
Step | Description |
1 | Continue building up Elektross on the bench while Zapdos ex tanks and deals damage, prepare your Potion cards in case Zapdos ex recieves lethal damage. |
2 | If in case you don't have Elektross yet, you can utilize Professor's Research to grab it. |
Key Card(s) Required | |
---|---|
1 | Once Eelektross is fully evolved and fed enough energy to battle, immediately switch it as your active Pokemon by having Zapdos ex retreat, costing 1 energy. |
2 | Alternatively, you can use X Speed if your Zapdos ex does not have enough energy to retreat. |
Deck | Commentary |
---|---|
Blastoise ex Decks |
・Zapdos ex and Eelektross are strong against a Blastoise ex deck due to type advantage. ・Despite Blastoise ex having high HP and being a bit tanky, Eelektross can continually Paralyze it rendering it unable to attack, and continue dishing out damage. |
Deck | Commentary |
---|---|
Machamp ex Decks |
・Machamp ex Decks boasts high damaging Pokemon cards and could be more lethal to Elektross, which is weak to Fighting type |
Pikachu ex Decks |
・Zapdos ex, while being a Lightning type Pokemon, is also weak to Lightning. This makes mirror matches a disadvantage. |
Eelektross and Zapdos ex Deck is an easy to set up deck that aims to lock your opponent in a stun cycle with Eelektross' Paralysis ability.
However, what puts this deck at a disadvantage is that it has multiple weaknesses despite only having one element.
Card | Explanation |
---|---|
Pikachu ex |
・ Since Zapdos ex is a rare find, another alternative for tank and damage is a Pikachu ex. It can deal quick lethal attacks and has a high HP of 100. |
Zapdos |
・You can also exchange Zapdos ex with its non ex variant, but this requires three energies to attack. ・ Zapdos may not be able to attack immediately due to energy constraints but it can serve as a great tank while you wait for your Eelektross. |
Card | Possible Cuts |
---|---|
Giovanni |
・ You can switch a Red Card for Giovanni for extra damage. |
