Best Starting Hand |
---|
Always start with Druddigon whenever it's available, having the Pidgey line available on your bench for evolving later in the game. Use Poke Ball to find Druddigon and retreat Pidgey into it.
Recommended Starting Hand |

Another good starting hand would have lots of resources available. These being Trainer cards. Use Poke Ball or your Supporter cards as options during your turn.

Druddigon's Rough Skin | ||

|
|
|
Druddigon can deal passive damage with its Rough Skin Ability, dealing 20 damage whenever it is damaged by an Attack. This can put opposing Pokemon in KO range for Pidgeot ex later in the game.
Pidgeot ex's Scattering Cyclone deals an extra 20 damage per opponent's Benched Pokemon. If the opponent has 3 Benched Pokemon, Pidgeot ex's attack can reach up to 140 base power. This would be enough power to instantly KO meta cards like Pikachu ex, Articuno ex, and Moltres ex.
Giovanni is especially useful for knocking out 130 HP Pokemon if they only have 2 Pokemon benched.

2 | Use Pidgeot ex to sweep your opponent's Pokemon. |
3 | Use the Pokemon Flute to bring back a Basic Pokemon from the discard pile to your opponent's Bench. This will keep Pidgeot ex's damage output at maximum. |
Deck | Commentary |
---|---|
Set Up Decks |
・Pidgeot ex benefits from having more pokemon in your opponent's Bench. ・Set Up Pokemon Decks like the Mewtwo ex Deck, which require a lot of Benched Pokemon, will struggle against Pidgeot ex. |
Deck | Commentary |
---|---|
Pikachu ex Decks |
・Lightning decks can hit our Pidgeot ex line for super-effective damage. ・Mythical Island Pikachu and Genetic Apex Pikachu ex can also benefit from having a full bench. |
Starmie ex Decks |
・Pidgeot ex takes 2 evolutions to build so it can be countered with a fast deck like the Starmie ex Deck. |
Pidgeot ex and Druddigon are consistent by themselves, but also have easy counterplay such as benching less Pokemon or sending out Pokemon with unconventional requirements.
Pidgeot ex is also a Stage 2, which may not be easy to set up.
Pidgeot ex requires 3 Energy to be able to attack, this demands that you evolve on time on turn 3 or be forced to play defensively and protect your unevolved Pokemon.
Card | Explanation |
---|---|
Chatot |
・Chatot can boost the deck's consistency by allowing you to refresh your hand and draw evolution cards |
Pidgey |
・Pidgey from Mythical Island has 10 less HP but also does 10 more damage. This may matter in the early game, when bits of damage can prove valuable, and not a lot of Pokemon can reliably attack for 50 damage in early turns. |
Card | Possible Cuts |
---|---|
Pidgeotto |
・ Pidgeotto from Mythical Island has 10 more HP than Genetic Apex Pidgeotto. |

This decklist leans into a completely Colorless route. Genetic Apex Pidgeot can be slotted in for 1 Pidgeot ex if you have not pulled one yet.
Chatot is slotted in as an option to refresh your hand and draw into Evolutions, while Tauros from Mythical Island is an easy slot-in because of its reasonable rarity and similar Energy requirements.
