Description | ||
・Use Mew ex early in the game and set up Pidgeot ex on the Bench. ・Restore Mew ex's HP when it's low by returning it to hand using Budding Expeditioner. |
Best Starting Hand |
---|
You would want to have Mew ex in your starting hand. Mew ex has 130 HP and only needs one Psychic energy to be able to attack, making it valuable for early game plays.
Recommended Starting Hand |
---|
If you do not have Budding Expeditioner in your starting hand, Sabrina is the next best supporter to buy turns. When Mew ex's HP starts to get low in the early game, use Sabrina to forcibly switch out the opposing Pokemon and force opponents into disadvantageous situations.

Mew ex can immediately attack for 20 damage with Psyshot, making it decent early in the game. Once it has three Energy, it can use Genome Hacking to KO ex Pokemon like Mewtwo ex or Charizard ex. It is worth noting that Mew ex will discard Energy if it copies Mewtwo ex's Psydrive.
This also isn't a very good Pokemon against Pokemon like Pikachu ex or Celebi ex because Mew ex will not be able to meet their Attacks' requirements.
Pidgeot ex's Scattering Cyclone deals an extra 20 damage per opponent's Benched Pokemon. If the opponent has 3 Benched Pokemon, Pidgeot ex's attack can reach up to 140 base power. This would be enough power to instantly KO meta cards like Pikachu ex, Articuno ex, and Moltres ex.

1 | Place Mew ex in the Active Spot while setting up Pidgey on the Bench. |

Step | Description |
1 | When Mew ex's HP gets too low, use Budding Expeditioner to return it to hand. |
2 | Set down Mew ex on the Bench with its HP fully restored. |
3 | Use the following turns to evolve and build your Benched Pokemon. |
Key Card(s) Required | |
---|---|
1 | When your opponent has 3 Benched Pokemon, send your fully set up Pidgeot ex into the Active Spot. |
2 | Use Pidgeot ex to sweep your opponent's Pokemon. |
3 | Use the Pokemon Flute to bring back a Basic Pokemon from the discard pile to your opponent's Bench. This will keep Pidgeot ex's damage output at maximum. |
Deck | Commentary |

![]() Set Up Decks |
・Pidgeot ex benefits from having more pokemon in your opponent's Bench. ・Set Up Pokemon Decks like the Mewtwo ex Deck, which require a lot of Benched Pokemon, will struggle against Pidgeot ex. |
Deck | Commentary |
---|---|
![]() Pikachu ex Decks |
・Mew ex does not deal any damage when copying Circle Circuit because the deck does not run any Lightning Pokemon. ・Lightning decks can hit our Pidgeot ex line for super-effective damage. |
![]() Starmie ex Decks |
・Pidgeot ex takes 2 evolutions to build so it can be countered with a fast deck like the Starmie ex Deck. |
Pidgeot ex and Mew ex are consistent by themselves, but also have easy counterplay such as benching less Pokemon or sending out Pokemon with unconventional requirements.
Pidgeot ex is also a Stage 2, which may not be easy to set up.
Both Pokemon need 3 Energy to fully function, making it so both require multiple turns to set up.
Card | Explanation |
---|---|
![]() Chatot |
・Chatot can boost the deck's consistency by allowing you to refresh your hand and draw evolution cards |
![]() Pidgey |
・Pidgey from Mythical Island has 10 less HP but also does 10 more damage. This may matter in the early game, when bits of damage can prove valuable, and not a lot of Pokemon can reliably attack for 50 damage in early turns. |
Card | Possible Cuts |
---|---|
![]() Pidgeotto |
・ Pidgeotto from Mythical Island has 10 more HP than Genetic Apex Pidgeotto. |

This decklist leans into a completely Colorless route. Genetic Apex Pidgeot can be slotted in for 1 Pidgeot ex if you have not pulled one yet.
Chatot is slotted in as an option to refresh your hand and draw into Evolutions, while Tauros from Mythical Island is and easier slot-in than Mew ex because of its lower rarity and similar Energy requirements.
