Dugtrio is used as a fast and Energy-efficient attacker in the early game. It can deal up to 100 damage for 1 Energy when discarding a Fighting-type Pokemon card. Hiker can help search for cards more consistently.
While they can be discarded, Rampardos and Marshadow can also be used as finishers. It is good to have at least one of them on the Bench in case Dugtrio gets knocked out.

Dugtrio needs to discard Fighting-type Pokemon cards in order to increase its damage. In order to attack as consistently as possible, it is good to have many Fighting-types in your deck.

Hiker can let you rearrange a few cards at the top of your deck. You may put a Fighting-type Pokemon at the top in order to guarantee 100 damage from Dugtrio.

Dugtrio cannot do anything against Pokemon who can knock it out in one hit. It is ideal to use Pokemon with high attacking power against Dugtrio decks.
Rampardos is a good single-point option that can also OHKO most of Dugtrio's allies. Celebi is also a good choice, as it is Basic Pokemon that can KO Dugtrio after devolving it into Diglett.

Dugtrio relies on discarding Fighting-type cards from the deck in order to deal more damage. You may use Red Card or Mars to disrupt the opponent. These cards can reduce the number of cards in their hand, which can throw off their strategy.
