Attacker | Support | Description |
---|---|---|
Raichu | Magneton |
・Magneton can ramp Energy onto itself, which you can move to Raichu with the Lt. Surge Supporter. ・Pikachu ex is also in the deck, which is an efficient attacker with cheap attack and retreat costs. |
Best Starting Hand |
---|
Immediately bench Magnemite and put Pikachu in the Active Spot. Use Professor's Research to dig for a Raichu, then evolve Magnemite to Magneton the following turn. Use Lt. Surge to move Energy from Magneton to Raichu for a quick 140 damage on unsuspecting opponents.
Recommended Starting Hand |
---|
Pikachu ex is also a solid starting Pokemon, as it can start attacking for 90 as early as turn 2. Use Poke Ball and Professor's Research to dig for cards you need, notably Basic Pokemon that you can Bench.

Magneton can handily power itself up with its Volt Charge Ability, which Lt. Surge can transfer to Raichu. Professor's Research can help dig for another Lt. Surge to use the following turn.
The deck can also function with Pikachu ex as an attacker. Requiring only two Energy to attack and with only 1 Retreat Cost, Pikachu ex is a very Energy-efficient Pokemon to have at your disposal.

Water Decks |
・Positive type matchup against Water decks. ・Always trades damage favorably. |

---|---|
Fighting Decks |
・Pokemon in the deck are at a type disadvantage against Fighting decks. ・Unfavorable point trades. |
The cards in the deck have natural synergy with each other, with Magneton serving as a battery and Lt. Surge being able to disrtribute it to Raichu. Pikachu ex and Raichu are an effective combo, and can take out most threats together.
Card | Explanation |
---|---|
Electrode |
・ Electrode is a solid alternative to Raichu, which has free retreat, however is limited to only 70 damage. Because it needs only two attachments, it does have a strong need for Magneton's support. |
Card | Possible Cuts |
---|---|
Giovanni |
・ Giovanni can take the place of Sabrina, prioritizing increased damage over gusting. |
