Mew ex Deck Variants Strengths and Weaknesses
Giratina ex and Mew ex Deck Icon Giratina ex and Mew ex Deck
[★ Best ★]
Strengths:
• Mew ex can tank a few hits, and get scooped up with Budding Expeditioner.

Weaknesses:
• Weak to Dark-type Pokemon with cheap attack costs.
• Chaotic Impact also damages Giratina ex, making it easier to KO.

Mew ex ×2 Giratina ex ×2 Sabrina ×1 Budding Expeditioner ×2
Giant Cape ×2 Rocky Helmet ×2 Cyrus ×1 Red ×2

Energy Used
Psychic Icon

This deck uses Mew ex to take hits for the first few turns as well as an attacker whenever it can, which becomes more effective when facing Pokemon with high-damage Attacks, while Giratina ex generates energy on the Bench.

Once Giratina ex is ready, Mew ex can be scooped back up to your hand with Budding Expeditioner, allowing you to send in Giratina ex without spending on retreat costs while also keeping Mew ex from getting KOd.

Energy Used
Metal Icon

Lickilicky ex is a fun partner for Dialga ex, which it can also power up with Metallic Turbo

Lickilicky ex and Lickitung suffer from having heavy Retreat Costs, though, so starting with Lickitung or having a Lickilicky ex without Energy is disadvantageous. To remedy this, the deck runs multiple copies of Leaf and X Speed to make sure that they can retreat into Dialga ex.

Mew ex has the lightest Retreat Cost in the deck, and also benefits from Dialga ex's acceleration. It can attack with Genome Hacking to KO the likes of Palkia ex or Charizard ex.

Mew ex Deck Strategy Guide

OHKO Powerful ex Pokemon With Genome Hacking

Mew ex's Genome Hacking is a powerful move that can copy any move from your opponent's Active Pokemon. It is able to use moves that normally have higher Attack Costs with only three Energies, and it can also bypass the discard conditions of these moves.

This attack is best used to deal with ex Pokemon with high HP and high attack, particularly Charizard ex and Palkia ex.

Avoid KOs With Budding Adventurer

Since Mew ex is an ex Pokemon, it gives the opponent two points when it is knocked out. Budding Expeditioner allows it to return to the player's hand without worrying about Retreat Costs, which provides the opportunity for your other Pokemon cards to switch in.

How to Beat Mew ex Decks

Strong Pokemon with Low Attack Costs

While Genome Hacking is powerful, it has a fixed cost of three Energies, which makes it a bad matchup against Pokemon with lower Attack Costs. It is best to use Pokemon that have powerful moves that use fewer Energies, efficiently knocking Mew ex out in one or two turns.

Energy Denial

For Mew ex decks without an accelerator, cards that discard energy such as Beedrill ex and Team Rocket Grunt may be an effective way to prevent it from using Genome Hacking.
