Articuno ex's partner for this deck is Glaceon ex, which relies on incremental damage from Snowy Terrain to whittle down your opponent's HP. This works similar to Poison, which does 10 damage in between turns.
Manaphy is present to accelerate Energy to both Articuno ex and Glaeon ex, and even Eevee if it hasn't evolved yet.

Use Misty and Manaphy to generate Energy as early as you can. Both these cards are must haves in a Water deck since they give extra Water Energy, leading to potential fast setups.

Glaceon ex's Snowy Terrain Ability can deal an extra 10 damage during Pokemon Checkup if it is in the Active Spot, which is very similar to Poison.
Combining this Ability with Rocky Helmet, lets you punish opponents for attacking Glaceon ex.

Glaceon ex can deal a total of 100 damage per turn if you combine its ability with its attack, so use Pokemon with High HP and can defeat Glaceon ex in two turns or less.
A perfect example would be a card like Palkia ex, which has more than 100 HP, and can OHKO Glaceon ex with 150 damage. Build it up in the Bench and switch it to the Active Spot once it's ready to prevent damage from Glaceon's Ability!

It is useful to have HP items in your hand so you can withstand the threat of Glaceon ex's ability. Cards like Potion and Pokemon Center Lady can restore HP for your Pokemon.
Alternatively, the Giant Cape can extend your HP by 20 and give you the extra health you need to keep your Pokemon alive for another turn.
