Dialga ex and Yanmega ex Deck
[★ Best ★] |
Strengths:
• Yanmega can easily be added to decks since its attack doesn't require any specific type of Energy. • Dialga ex is an amazing Energy Accelerator providing two energies while dishing out damage. • Yanmega ex and Dialga ex can both be found in the Space-Time Smackdown (Dialga) pack. Weaknesses: • Struggles against decks that can quickly set-up like Pikachu ex. • Reliant on Dialga ex setting Yanmega ex up because of its steep Attack Cost. |

Dialga ex and Mew ex are joined by Yanmega ex, who is a powerful Grass-type Attacker introduced in Space-Time Smackdown. It notably has a Colorless Attack Cost, which means it can benefit from Dialga ex's Metallic Turbo. It can also OHKO Darkrai ex unless it has a Giant Cape.
120 damage is also a great damage benchmark to hit, as Yanmega ex can also OHKO Pikachu ex and Pachirisu ex.

Yanmega ex is played alongside Exeggutor ex as a way to deal higher damage, as it is able to deal a solid 120 damage. This lets it take out low HP Basic Pokemon, or 2HKO most exs. It also has a lower Retreat Cost compared to Exeggutor ex.

The secondary attacker of choice in this deck list is Yanmega ex. It can reliably OHKO Darkrai ex and Weavile ex, while being out of range of getting knocked out by other Yanmega ex itself.
Palkia ex and Manaphy are in this deck list too, to enact their respective gameplans as attacker and support. Unfortunately, they share the same weakness with Yanma and Yanmega ex.

Leafeon ex effectively hastens Yanmega ex's setup, allowing it to attack in as early as two turns. It is also able to take advantage of Water Energy and Irida to keep its Pokemon healthy.

Yanmega ex may require setup as Air Slash has an Attack Cost of three. Since it can work with any type of Energy, the player can choose which Energy accelerator they prefer depending on the type of deck they wish to build.

When Yanmega ex is ready to attack, start swinging for 120 with Air Slash. You may also use Dawn to move Energy to your Active Pokemon, allowing you to possibly attack one turn sooner.

Lightning-type decks that do not require much setup can be effective in dealing with Yanmega ex decks. In addition to the type advantage, they can also attack much quicker due to a lower Attack Cost, which may allow them to secure KOs.
Best Lightning Type Deck and Cards Tier List

Yanmega ex decks often rely on Energy acceleration in order to cover for its high Attack Cost of 3. Cards that can discard your opponent's Energy such as Beedrill ex and Team Rocket Grunt can help in denying it a turn to attack.

What's the point of this when you can just use Melmetal, who's tankier, does the same damage, doesn't discard energy, and only gives 1 victory point?
