List of Contents
| Infernape ex Deck Variants | Strengths and Weaknesses |
|---|---|
Flareon ex and Infernape ex Deck
[★ New ★] |
Strengths:
• Flareon ex synergizes with Infernape ex, being able to accelerate discarded Fire Energy with its Combust Ability. • Can keep attacking consistently with Infernape ex if you're able to accelerate Energy to Flareon ex and use Dawn. Weaknesses: • Most of the Pokemon in the deck share a Weakness to Water. • Infernape ex requires some setup, which makes the strategy difficult to enforce on speedier decks. • |
Infernape ex and Moltres ex Deck
[★ Best ★] |
Strengths:
• Deals a powerful 140 damage for only two Energy and synergizes with Dawn. • Can keep attacking consistently if you're able to attach Energy to other Pokemon and use Dawn. • Moltres ex is an ideal starter that can accelerate Energy onto Benched Pokemon. Weaknesses: • Difficult to set up a second attack after it uses Flare Blitz once. • Makes use of Stage 2 Pokemon, which may require multiple turns to set up. |
Heatran and Infernape ex Deck
[★ Updated ★] |
Strengths:
• Infernape ex can finish off low HP Pokemon that have been damaged by Heatran. • Low Energy requirements for both primary attackers. • Arceus ex can also go on the offensive when necessary. Weaknesses: • Heatran can be an easy KO for opponents if it can't Retreat in time. • Water-types can threaten KOs on Heatran. • Reliant on Infernape ex for big KOs. |

Flareon ex synergizes with Infernape ex, allowing it to use Flare Blitz on consecutive turn with the help of Flareon ex's Combust Ability and Dawn.
Lillie is run in this deck to keep Infernape ex healthy on turns when it can't attack, while Mars can offer hand disruption when one of your Pokemon has been knocked out.
Rare Candy makes the deck even more explosive, letting you power out an Infernape ex as early as turn 2!

Infernape ex is an effective alternative to Charizard ex that has a cheaper Attack Cost in Flare Blitz, but requires you to discard all of its Fire Energy.
You can play around this limitation by attaching one Energy for the turn to Infernape ex, and then using Dawn to transfer extra Energy from a Benched Pokemon to your Active Infernape ex.

Arceus ex isn't featured as heavily in this deck, used mainly to give Heatran free retreat. It also functions as a backup attacker that does not require you to evolve like Infernape ex.

Rare Candy can allow Infernape ex to start using Flare Blitz as early as your second turn.

Moltres ex can help get Energy onto Infernape ex, who only needs two Energy to attack. If you have lots of Energy on your board, you will be able to use Dawn to have Infernape ex use Flare Blitz consecutively after an Energy attachment for turn.

Dawn helps you quickly set up another Flare Blitz from Infernape. By using Dawn to pull up an Energy from a Benched Pokemon, Infernape ex will be able to Flare Blitz multiple times in a row!

Gallade ex is a tough Pokemon to go up against. Infernape ex decks rely on Infernape ex for damage, while Gallade ex decks can line up their Pokemon in such a way that you have to take two single-point Pokemon before taking out their Gallade ex. This makes it so we have to use Flare Blitz three turns in a row, which is not an easy feat.
Gallade ex also does not get OHKOd by Flare Blitz because of its sizeable 170 HP, even with the use of Red
Giant Cape can keep your ex Pokemon out of Infernape ex's KO range, which could matter in some matchups.
Best Gallade ex Decks and Card List

Beedrill ex can be a problem because Infernape ex is frequently discarding Energy with Flare Blitz. Beedrill ex can ensure that Infernape ex won't ever have Energy to Attack using its Crushing Spear Attack that discards Energy from opposing Pokemon.
Team Rocket Grunt supports this gameplan, further denying Infernape ex of essential Energy to pay for its Attack Cost.

Magmar depending if it's the one where the attack pulls an energy, meaning he is a easy energy pool for infernape if he happens to be the only basic pokemon at the start
