Card Draw | Mid to Late Game Attacker | Description |
---|---|---|
Meowth | Mewtwo ex |
・Meowth is a solid starter, allowing us to draw into our Kirlias or other important resources. ・Mewtwo can come in mid to late game and clean up damaged Pokemon |
Best Starting Hand |
---|
You would ideally be able to bench a Ralts early and evolve it throughout the game. Use Pokeball and Professor's Research to dig through your deck to get Ralts!
Recommended Starting Hand |
---|
It's also good to have Kirlia inhand to evolve Ralts the following turn. Allow Mewtwo ex into the active spot to tank hits and dish out some damage with Psychic Sphere. Use Potions to keep it healthy!

Early Game Meowth | ||
---|---|---|
A Meowth start allows us to draw a card from Pay Day, finding us valuable resources or our Kirlias and Gardevoirs. This is very valuable for a setup-heavy deck like Mewtwo ex and Gardevoir
Mewtwo ex should serve as a late game sweeper, clearing damaged and low HP Pokemon. Use Psychic Sphere where necessary so that you don't always have to discard Energy with Psydrive.
Key Card(s) Required | |
---|---|
Step | Description |
1 | Use Meowth to draw cards while Ralts sits safely on the bench. |
2 | Mewtwo ex is also a powerful starter especially if you are going second because you would be ahead on Energy attachments. |
Key Card(s) Required | |
---|---|
Step | Description |
1 | Mewtwo can enter mid to late game and dish out lots of damage with its attacks. |
Key Card(s) Required | |
---|---|
1 | Use Gardevoir to keep Mewtwo fueled so that it can use Psydrive every turn! |
Deck | Commentary |
---|---|
Venusaur Decks |
・Venusaur and Exeggutor decks may struggle to keep up with Mewtwo's consistency. ・Exeggutor ex must rely on multiple heads flips to get decisive KOs on Mewtwo ex. |
Deck | Commentary |
---|---|
Arbok Decks |
Type:
・ Mewtwo ex is at a type disadvantage against Arbok decks. ・ Mewtwo ex can get stranded in the active with Arbok's Corner and get KOd before it can take out Arbok. |
Mewtwo ex decks are very consistent and are a great deck to use for anybody who wants to play strong Pokemon.
Card | Explanation |
---|---|
Red Card |
・Red Card can be slotted in as a way to disrupt players and slow them down to Mewtwo and Gardevoir's pace. |
Card | Possible Cuts |
---|---|
Giovanni |
・ You can slot in two Giovanni in place of 1 Meowth and 1 Sabrina or cut both Meowth to boost Mewtwo ex's damage output even further when necessary. |
Mewtwo |
・ Non-ex Mewtwo can help in certain matchups where you need a non-ex attacker that isn't Gardevoir. ・This is helpful in the Pikachu ex matchup, as it does not get OHKOd by Pikachu ex, but it can OHKO it instead. |

This list cuts the entire Gardevoir line and adds a 1-2 Hypno line for disruption as well as 2 Jynx and 2 Farfetch'd. Sleep Pendulum can be a disruptive Ability, putting opponents to Sleep while Mewtwo ex stays safe from damage as it loads up on Energy.
Farfetch'd and Jynx can work as energy-efficient attackers while Mewtwo ex sets up in the bench.

I use 1 or 2 Meowth in my deck for the early game. This helps me get cards much faster and get my Mewtwo powered up faster.
