List of Contents
| Mega Absol ex Deck Variants | Strengths and Weaknesses |
|---|---|
Mega Absol ex and Hydreigon Deck
[★ Best ★] |
Strengths:
• Mega Absol ex has an inexpensive Attack in Darkness Claw, which can 2HKO most ex Pokemon. • Darkness Claw can be disruptive if it can discard a Supporter card from your opponent's hand. • Hydreigon's massive damage output can make up for Mega Absol ex's relatively low attack power. Weaknesses: • Mega Absol ex has low HP compared to other Mega ex Pokemon. |
Galarian Obstagoon and Darkrai ex Deck
[★ New ★] |
Strengths:
• Darkrai ex's Ability and Galarian Obstagoon have good synergy. • Piers effectively disrupts high-cost decks. Weaknesses: • May struggle with bulky Mega Pokemon without Galarian Obstagoon. |
Mega Absol ex and Greninja Deck
|
Strengths:
• Mega Absol ex has an inexpensive Attack in Darkness Claw, which can 2HKO most ex Pokemon. • Greninja can damage any of the opponent's Pokemon with Water Shuriken. • Makes use of Chingling as an early-game disruption Pokemon, preventing opponents from using valuable Poke Balls and Rare Candy. Weaknesses: • Mega Absol ex has low HP compared to other Mega ex Pokemon. • Greninja is a Stage 2 Pokemon which needs a few turns to set up. |

Although Mega Absol ex's Darkness Claw has a great disruptive effect, it lacks the power you may want in the late game. Hydreigon is here to make up for Mega Absol ex's damage output. Switch it in if you need to deal with high HP Pokemon or if you need to go up against Pom-Pom Oricorio.
2 copies of Lucky Ice Pop are slotted in to mitigate Hydreigon's damage from Roar in Unison.
Nihilego works well for putting high HP Mega exs like Mega Kangaskhan ex into Hydreigon's KO range.

This deck makes use of Chingling as an early-game disruption piece that can buy you a few turns to set up Greninja on your Bench.
Darkrai ex can sit on the Bench and be loaded up with Energy to deal passive damage with Nightmare Aura.
When the situation calls for it, Mega Absol ex can come in and deal a good 80 damage while discarding a Supporter from your opponent's hand with Darkness Claw. This Attack is made even more effective on a turn that you use Red Card.
Rocky Helmet can help you score KOs earlier by inflicting 20 damage on attacking Pokemon.

This deck allows you to inflict Poison on your opponent in order to make up for Mega Absol ex's relatively low damage output. You can attach Poison Barb to your Pokemon in the Active Spot, then have Nihilego on your Bench to increase the Poison damage every turn.
Weezing's Gas Leak can inflict Poison when Weezing is in the Active Spot, which works well with Nihilego's More Poison Ability.

Mega Absol ex is played with Pom-Pom Oricorio in this deck that aims to control and limit its opponent's options.
Pichu is used to quickly set up Pom-Pom Oricorio, while Mega Absol goes the offensive and discards your opponent's Supporters.
Giant Cape and Pokemon Center Lady are in the deck to ensure that Mega Absol ex is healthy for as long as possible, as having it get KOd would immediately make you lose the match.

Mega Absol ex becomes very hard to KO because of Dusknoir's Shadow Veil, which removes all damage from it and transfers it to Dusknoir.
Giant Cape ensures that Dusknoir survives taking up to 140 damage from Shadow Veil, allowing you multiple uses of the Ability.
Lisia helps you find all your low-HP Basics, while Shiinotic helps you thin out your deck and find important evolution cards.

This deck allows you to inflict Poison on your opponent in order to make up for Mega Absol ex's relatively low damage output. You can attach Poison Barb to Mega Absol ex in the Active Spot, then have Nihilego on your Bench to increase the Poison damage every turn.
Compared to the Mega Absol ex and Hydreigon Deck, this version has a higher emphasis on Nihilego and Mega Absol ex, with Hydreigon as its backup.
Since you can use Mega Absol ex's Darkness Claw to get rid of some of your opponent's recovery options, this is a good way to deal damage over time. However, if you're in need of a large amount of damage in one move, you can attack with Hydreigon.

Mega Absol ex can be a pain to go up against if you maximize its disruptive capabilities. Its Darkness Claw attack allows you to remove your opponent's potential healing, positioning, and disruption options.
If you add more disruptive Trainer cards to your deck such as the Red Card and Mars, you can push your opponent out of position and make it difficult for them to set up or recover.

Since Mega Absol ex doesn't have a high damage output, you may want to have a strong Pokemon on your Bench, such as Hydreigon, that can clean up high HP Pokemon in the late game.
You can also opt for strategies that involve building consistent damage over time, such as inflicting the Poison status condition. The small amount of damage every turn should be enough to augment Mega Absol ex's damage output.

While Mega Absol ex does have high HP as a Mega Evolution Pokemon, it's not as bulky compared to most other Mega Evolutions. Two strong Grass-type attacks should be enough to knock it out, and since it's a Mega Evolution Pokemon, knocking it out should automatically allow you to win.
Grass-type Pokemon such as Mega Pinsir ex and Leafeon ex are recommended to counter Mega Absol ex.
List of All Grass Type Pokemon Cards

Decks that aren't too reliant on Supporter cards don't have much to worry about when it comes to Mega Absol ex. Consider using Item or Pokemon cards in your deck instead if they can perform a similar role to the Supporter cards you want to use.

nvm i got it wrong it's 20 but yeah no deino i wonder how you're gonna play hydreigon without him
