Exeggutor ex | Venusaur |
・Exeggutor ex is an energy-efficient attackers with plenty of HP. ・Can deal good chunks of damage and tank hits while allowing Venusaur to set up on the Bench. |
Best Starting Hand |
---|
Exeggcute is the ideal starting Pokemon for the deck, with an Exeggutor ex ready onhand. Professor's Research can help dig for evolutions, while Erika can help heal Exeggutor ex while Venusaur ex isn't set up yet.
Recommended Starting Hand |
---|
A good starting hand has Exeggcute for the active, ready to evolve the following turn and a Bulbasaur in the Bench. Professor's Research can help dig for the necessary Ivysaur or Exeggutor ex if they aren't onhand. Potion can keep your evolved Pokemon healthy for longer in a match.

Exeggutor ex Early Game | ||
---|---|---|
Exeggutor ex can absorb damage thanks to its sturdy 160 HP, while dishing out 40-80 damage every turn for only one Energy. This Pokemon can stay in the active spot while the other Pokemon on the Bench get set up for the late game.
Use Erika when necessary to keep Exeggutor ex healthy.
Venusaur is difficult to stop and is a single-point attacker. Prioritize getting Venusaur out every game as this will help you score a victory!

Deck | Commentary |

Pikachu ex Decks |
・Pikachu ex decks will struggle to 2HKO Venusaur decks, while being susceptible to 2HKOs themselves. ・This is a top tier deck, though. So it can still attempt to overrun your board with damage. |
Deck | Commentary |
---|---|
Blaine Decks |
・Blaine decks pack enough firepower to threaten Venusaur ex and Exeggutor ex. ・The deck's speed may be difficult to compete with. |
This deck functions like a sub-optimal version of the Blastoise ex deck.
Venusaur can deal a decent chunk with Mega Drain and heal 30 damage of itself, however one of Venusaur ex's strengths is that it does not get OHKOd by Mewtwo's Psydrive due to its higher HP. Consider building Venusaur ex once you have access to it, and cut non-ex Venusaur completely.
