This deck relies on Exeggutor ex and Venusaur as bulky attackers. Exeggutor ex can act as a good Active Pokemon in the early and mid-game while Venusaur sets up in the Bench. As soon as Venusaur is ready, it can be switched in to deal a great amount of damage while keeping itself healthy with Mega Drain.

Venusaur can be difficult to set up since it is a Stage 2 Pokemon. You may use Energy-efficient Grass-type attackers in the Active Spot during the early game. Exeggutor ex is recommended as it is able to deal 80 damage with just one Energy.

Venusaur is a single-point attacker that is difficult to stop because of its bulk and healing. You may further increase its bulk by equipping it with the Giant Cape.

Venusaur cannot take advantage of its healing if it is knocked out in one hit. It is recommended to use strong Fire-type Pokemon that can OHKO Venusaur.
Best Fire Type Decks & Cards Tier List

Since Venusaur takes time to set up, you can take advantage of this by knocking it out before it has evolved. Sabrina and Cyrus can draw them out to the Active Spot. You can also use cards that can damage Benched Pokemon such as Genetic Apex Hitmonlee.

Status effects can be helpful in dealing with Venusaur. You can deal incremental damage with it through Poison, making it easier to KO. Other status effects such as Paralysis and Confusion may also inconvenience your opponent, and can push them to retreat Venusaur.
