Strategy 1: Evolution Lock

Evolution Lock
A1 142
A1a 046 A1a 047

Aerodactyl ex's Ability, makes it difficult for your opponent to play decks that utilize Stage 1 and Stage 2 cards. This sets up the field so that your opponent only has a Basic unevolved Pokemon as their Active Pokemon, making it easy for Primeape to knock them out with Fight Back.

Strategy 2: Marshadow Revenge's

A1a 047

Should Primeape fall, Marshadow can be used to swoop in and trade points with the opponent.

Aerodactyl ex Deck Best and Worst Matchups

Best Matchups

Deck Commentary

Evolution Decks
Type: Grass Fire Water

・Forces your opponent to set up their Stage 1 and Stage 2 Pokemon in Bench
・Can easily beat over low HP Basic Pokemon thanks to Primeape's 100 BP move.

Worst Matchups

Deck Commentary

Big Basics Decks
Type: Grass Lightning Psychic

・Easily countered by decks that use attackers that don't require evolution or do most of their evolution in the bench.
・Notable examples include the new Celebi ex and Serperior deck and Mewtwo ex decks.

Overall Consistency

Although the deck has strong damage and locking potential, Primeape needs to take damage to maximize Fight Back's damage. Aerodactyl ex is also diffcult to search along with Old Amber, making the deck highly inconsistent.
