Best Starting Hand

An opening hand with Ekans is always welcome because it can allow you to attack and evolve the following turn. A T1 Pidgey and T2 Pidgeotto are also welcome, as you would ideally get a Pidgeot ready as well.

Other Good Starting Cards

Recommended Starting Hand

Multiple evolution lines and a Professor's Research to dig with is also a great hand to start with. This deck is not as susceptible to Red Card, but you should still hold on to Professor's Research for turns where you need to dig for options.

Arbok Lock Pidgeot Late Game

Strategy 1: Arbok Lock

Arbok Lock

Arbok, the deck's main attacker, preys on weaker and unprepared Pokemon. Use Pidgeot to gust away your opponent's usable attackers and trap weak Pokemon and knock them out.

Strategy 2: Pidgeot Late Game

Pidgeot is able to deal a solid 70 damage with Wing Attack, making it a decent late-game attacker. Use Pidgeot to pick off damaged Pokemon for the last points you need to win the game!

Mid-Game

1	Evolve Ekans into Arbok and continue pressure. Have Pidgey evolve into Pidgeotto as soon as you can as well. Keep your Pokemon healthy with Potions and well-timed switches.

Late Game

1	Use Pidgeot to gust away your opponent's usable attackers, and use Arbok to trap weak Pokemon. Use Potion to keep your Pokemon out of KO range.

Mewtwo ex Decks	Type: ・Mewtwo ex decks are at a disadvantage against Arbok decks which is a Dark-type deck. ・Pidgeot can gust out Mewtwos with Energy for other Pokemon that are not as threatening to the active spot.

Y Decks	Type: ・Pikachu ex decks can be quick and explosive, and can overrun Arbok with damage. ・Pikachu ex with Giovanni can OHKO Arbok with a full bench.

Overall Consistency

The Arbok and Pidgeot deck can easily set up Arbok to attack but may struggle to get Pidgeot up and ready because it is a Stage 2. Running Sabrina may still be good, so that you are not always reliant on Pidgeot for its gusting effect.

Sabrina	・ Sabrina can be slotted in so that you can still have gusting options outside of Pidgeot.

Koga	・ Koga can replace the rest of the Pidgeot line, which can get a Weezing out of the active spot when Arbok is ready to attack.

This F2P list makes use of the easier to access Farfetch'd and Weezing lines instead of a full 2-2-2 Pidgeot. Weezing can deal incremental damage with Gas Leak and Tackle, while being able to escape using Koga back to your hand.

The Trainers used in this deck are all easy to access, which are Potion, X Speed, Professor's Research and Poke Ball.
