Once set up, you can bring out Magnezone to the Active Spot and, with the help of Giant Cape, withstand any attack while easily eliminating non-ex Pokemon with its powerful 110 damage attack.

This deck runs Space-Time Smackdown Shaymin to help mitigate chip damage from Pokemon like Darkrai ex. It also runs a copy of Giant Cape to increase your Pokemon's survivability.

This deck aims to quickly power up attackers with Pichu and Elemental Switch.

The inclusion of Pichu alleviates Silvally 's weakness of being an Energy behind when going first.

Pom-Pom Oricorio can wall unprepared ex Pokemon, while Silvally attacks for 100 every turn, forcing advantageous point trades.

Pom-Pom Oricorio and Zeraora are also in this deck, because these two Lightning-types both offer you utility, with Pom-Pom Oricorio being able to wall ex Pokemon, and Zeraora being a strong starter.

Benefits of 3-Diamond Rarity Decks

Used to Clear Solo Battles

Many solo battles, especially at higher difficulties, will require you to win with a deck where all the Pokemon cards are of ♢,♢♢, and/or ♢♢♢ rarity. This means that you will need to have a solid deck that doesn't rely on ex Pokemon if you hope to obtain the rewards from those missions, and this becomes very difficult at the expert difficulty!

Some Non-ex Cards Won't Work For Solo Battles

Despite not being an ex card, Pokemon cards with a 1☆ rarity, as well as promo cards, will disqualify you from clearing this mission, so make sure that all of your Pokemon show ♢,♢♢, and/or ♢♢♢, as specifed in the mission text. Note that this only applies to Pokemon, so 1☆ trainer and supporter cards are fine to include!

Solo Battle Guides: All Decks, Battle Tasks and Counters

For Longer Battles and Favorable Point Trades

ex Pokemon yield 2 points when knocked out, speeding up games because you need three points to win games. Using non-ex Pokemon can also be advantageous because of favorable prize trades against decks with ex. This means that they would need to knock out three Pokemon from a non-ex deck, compared to only two when against a deck with ex Pokemon.

List of ex Pokemon Cards

Play Non-ex Private Lobbies

You can play against players with no ex Pokemon in their deck by going into Private Match on the Versus Menu, and inputting the password, NOEX. With no ex Pokemon around, some lesser seen Pokemon and strategies can be seen and enjoyed! However, it is worth noting that wins in Private Lobbies will not net you any XP.

I recommend to add an A2 3 diamond Giratina to the psychic 3 diamonds deck, just the Togepi is not enough to tank, specially against the Darkrai ex and Weavile ex deck which does around 90 damage per turn.
