Ramp Up Energy and Switch | ||
---|---|---|
The strategy of this deck is to have Moltres in the active zone as early as your first turn and have Sizzlipede on the bench ready to evolve into Centiskorch.
Continuously use Moltres ex's Fire Dance to have Centiskorch (or Sizzlipede if it hasn't evolved yet) ramp up at least 4 Energy so it will be ready to inflict lethal damage once switched.
Bring Out Moltres ex | ||
---|---|---|
If Moltres ex is not in your starting hand, the best alternative strategy is to have Centiskorch as the Active Pokemon. Then, use your trainer cards to bring out Moltres ex. Both Professor's Research and Poke Ball will serve as your drawing power as each can draw into Moltres ex.
Once you have drawn Moltres ex, you must immediately set it as your Active Pokemon use the X Speed trainer card to switch your Centiskorch to it.

Deck | Commentary |
---|---|
Exeggutor ex Decks |
・Exeggutor ex and other Grass type decks can be easily fought using your Centiskorch and Moltres ex Deck due to type advantage. ・Exeggutor ex can easily be OHKOd by Centiskorch. |
Deck | Commentary |
---|---|
Articuno ex Decks |
・Centiskorch is weak to Water type decks and battling Articuno ex decks put you in a disadvantage. ・Articuno ex can deal chip damage to the Bench, affecting Centiskorch's HP even when benched. |
Initially, this deck can be overwhelming due to not knowing which card to prioritize, but it gets easier and straightforward after getting a few battles in.
Additionally, once Moltres ex gets knocked out, the deck will face greater chances of losing since it relies on Moltres ex's Energy provision.
Card | Explanation |
---|---|
Arcanine |
・ You can switch Centiskorch with Arcanine if you haven't gotten its card yet. ・ Arcanine however, deals 30 less damage than Centiskorch, but it will only cost 3 energy rather than the regular 4. |
Moltres |
・ A regular Moltres can replace Moltres ex if you haven't had it yet. ・This may alter the stategy since Moltres does not have the Inferno Dance skill, however it's Sky Attack skill is powerful nonetheless. |
Card | Possible Cuts |
---|---|
Giovanni |
・ You can cut a Red Card for a Giovanni for additional damage output. |

This decklist makes use of only one Moltres ex and uses Growlith and Arcanine as as substitute for Sizzlipede and Centiskorch. You get a Moltres ex from drawing from the Charizard Booster Pack. Instead of Red Card this lists Giovanni for more damage dealt by Arcanine.
The strategy will remain the same, use Moltres ex for Energy Ramp and Arcanine, with the help of Giovanni, to deal extra damage.
