| Meowscarada Deck Variants | Strengths and Weaknesses |
|---|---|
Celebi and Meowscarada Deck
[★ Updated ★] |
Strengths:
• Works well against most Stage 2 ex decks, especially SR Charizard ex and Gyarados ex decks. • Celebi can surprise opponents by knocking out the opponent right after the devolution. Weaknesses: • Very weak against Fire-type decks, especially those with accelerated Energy generation. |
Whimsicott ex and Meowscarada Deck
[★ New ★] |
Strengths:
• Whisicott ex can deal lots of damage to Pokemon with high Retreat Costs. • Meowscarada can deal 130 damage to ex Pokemon for only 2 energy. Weaknesses: • Whimsicott ex can deal negligible damage to Pokemon with low Retreat Costs. |
Decidueye ex and Meowscarada Deck
|
Strengths:
• Pokemon in the deck have efficient and inexpensive Attack and Retreat Costs. • Sprigatito can thin out all the Grass Pokemon from the deck, making it a little bit more consistent. Weaknesses: • Unfavorable matchup against single-point Fire-types. |
Tsareena and Meowscarada Deck
|
Strengths:
• Both Pokemon in this deck can deal great damage with efficient Attack Costs. • Has access to great Trainer Cards that increase survivability. Weaknesses: • All Pokemon in the deck share a Weakness to Fire. • Runs multiple Stage 2 lines which could make it inconsistent. |

This deck pairs Celebi with Meowscarada to counter decks with Stage 2 Pokemon as well as decks with ex Pokemon. Celebi can take on decks like Shining Revelry Charizard ex and Mega Gyarados ex while Meowscarada can deal with any deck that includes Dark-types.
The deck also includes Pheromosa as a means to whittle down your opponent's health, and put them in Celebi and Meowscarada's KO range.
Klefki is included as a way of removing Giant Cape, and ensuring KOs when Celebi devolves high-HP Pokemon.

Grass Knot is a strong and efficient attack that lets Whimsicott ex severely punish Pokemon with heavy Retreat Costs at the cost of only 2 Energy.
Meowscarada is played in the deck as well, as a non-ex attacker that can deal meaningful damage to ex Pokemon.

Decidueye ex is a Stage 2 that benefits from Rare Candy, which greatly speeds up its setup, allowing it to immediately start attacking for only 2 Energy. Meowscarada is played alongside Decidueye ex, as a way for the deck to deal higher damage.
Decidueye ex can snipe any Pokemon on your opponent's side of the field if it has any damage, which makes it so no Pokemon is safe against Decidueye ex and Meowscarada's one-two combo!

Meowscarada is played alongside Magnezone in this deck. While it may have consistency problems because of multiple Stage 2 lines in the deck, having both Meowscarada and Magnezone ready can often lead to you winning games.
Genetic Apex Magneton can set itself up with Energy using its Volt Charge Ability, allowing you to attack with Magnezone on a later turn.
Magnezone is especially useful for knocking out single-point Pokemon that Meowscarada may have trouble with, while Meowscarada can deal with exs.

Beedrill ex is an effective teammate for Meowscarada as it can deal sizeable damage to non-ex Pokemon. Even a 1-1-1 line becomes consistent for this deck because of Sprigatito's Cry for Help Attack, as well as one copy of Pokemon Communication.
This deck makes use of Genetic Apex Weedle, instead of Shining Revelry Weedle because it can deal 20 damage with Sting. We also don't run Shining Revelry Weedle because we don't run any other Weedle in the deck for it to find with Multiply.

Meowscarada gains an extra 70 damage to its attack if it is facing off against an ex Pokemon. With the help of Red, it can even deal up to 150 damage, knocking out most ex Pokemon.
Against non-exs, however, Meowscarada cannot deal heavy enough damage.
Leafeon ex can help cover Meowscarada's weaknesses as a secondary attacker. Using its Forest Breath Ability to accelerate Energy, Leafeon ex can be quickly set up to stomp any non-ex Pokemon.

For a faster and more offensive deck, Carnivine and Arceus ex can be used instead of Leafeon ex. Carnivine and Arceus ex are both basic Pokemon, making them easy to set up for attacks.
Use Carnivine to weaken your opponent's Pokemon. Having Arceus ex on the Bench will boost Carnivine's damage output, making it deal 50 damage for only one Energy. When the opponent's Pokemon are at low health, switch in Meowscarada to finish them off.
If the opponent's Pokemon is an ex, you can use the Meowscarada and Red combo to deal take a KO.

Snorlax can be used as wall due to its high HP while setting up a Meowscarada in the Bench. However, Barry can reduce the cost of Snorlax's Attack by 2, making it an effective single-point damage dealer if needed.
Once Meowscarada is fully set up, you can switch it in to defeat any stragglers or ex Pokemon.

Meowscarda's Fighting Claws can do a massive 130 damage to ex Pokemon. When used with Red, this boosts it up to 150, KOing most ex Pokemon.

Non-ex attackers can make for advantageous point trades against Meowscarda. Against non-exs, Meowscarada can only do a negligible 60 damage. Pokemon like Magnezone need multiple hits to take out, while it can do 110 damage every turn.

Meow and bee are amazing, however for your deck build I would recommend only one poke ball, since you already can use sprig or the communicator to get what you need. The second poke ball always ended up unused for me. Not sure what I would replace it with though, I’ve been using a second cape but Sabrina or another Cyrus might be better
