This Expert Solo Battle guide is for the Kingdra ex Deck from the Wisdom of Sea and Sky expansion. Read on to learn about how to defeat it, counter decks, how to beat the battle tasks, and rewards.

How to Beat Kingdra ex Expert Solo Battle

Use Fast Lightning Pokemon
Kingdra ex is difficult to beat once it is fully set up, especially with its Stormy Prison which prevents Active Pokemon from retreating. It is best to KO it as soon as possible with fast, low-cost Lightning-type Pokemon.
Pikachu ex and Pachirisu ex are great Basic ex options. Zeraora is also a good single-point option since its ability gives it an extra Lightning energy at the end of the first turn it is drawn, allowing you to attack as early as turn 2.
Use Oricorio to Nullify Kingdra ex's Attacks
With Kingdra ex as the deck's only attacker, Pom-Pom Oricorio can effortlessly shut down this deck by nullifying Kingdra ex's attacks as well as exploiting its weakness to Lightning.
Other Lightning-type Cards with high HP like Lanturn ex can also be used to exchange hits with Kingdra ex without having to retreat.
Defeat Horsea Before it Evolves
With the presence of Rare Candy in the deck, you would want to target Horsea as soon as possible.
Use cards like Cyrus or Sabrina to force Horsea into the Active Spot. You can also opt to use Pokemon that attack the Bench like Zebstrika to target Horsea without defeating Pyukumuku.

This deck makes use of Shining Revelry Charizard ex as the deck's main attacker with Incineroar ex as its backup.
Since Charizard ex and Incineroar ex are both tanky Pokemon, they can withstand at least one hit from Kingdra ex's Stormy Prison. They also both have the potential to inflict heavy damage, so if either one are unable to retreat, they can still pose as a threat to Kingdra ex.

Pom-Pom Oricorio's Ability shuts down Kingdra ex's attacks, which can help you set up Magnezone in your Bench.
Magneton's ability allows you to place extra Lightning energy onto itself. Stack as much energy as you can on Magneton before evolving it into Magnezone.
Once set up, you can place Magnezone in the Active Spot and, with the help of Giant Cape to withstand any attack, easily sweep through the Pokemon in this expert deck.
