Travelers may need to wait until the final act of the story, The Dream Yet to Be Dreamed, until Dainsleif finally releases as a playable character during the last teased region, Khaenri'ah!
This is hinted from the Storyline Preview: Travail, where in the last act, he'll challenge the Traveler to prove themselves worthy of rescuing their missing sibling.
Dainsleif doesn't possess any Vision, nor does he possess an Element familiar to Teyvat's current Elements. It's possible that he may use other Elements unique from the Seven, as Khaenri'ah itself was godless.
All Nations and Regions of Teyvat
Currently, there have been no news about Dainsleif's rarity, weapon, and element. What weapon and element combination do you think Dainsleif will have? Feel free to discuss in the comments section below!
Unlike the other nations, Khaenri'ah was godless. It is for the very fact that their civilization had flourished and was able to create powerful machinery like the Field Tiller, and advance their alchemical expertise.
However, this was also the catalyst of their own destruction, as the gods (presumably Celestia) deemed Khaenri'ah too ambitious. Dainsleif implores the Traveler to be wary of the gods because of this very fact.
Dainsleif was the Twilight Sword, or the royal guard that sought to protect Khaenri'ah 500 years ago. However, he failed his duty to do so. Because of this, he was laid a curse of immortality, as he watched his own people turn into the monsters of the Abyss Order.
It is Dainsleif's personal mission to oppose the Abyss Order, although his motives for doing so are still unclear. It's possible that he wants to save the people he was tasked to protect before from falling deeper into evil.
Dainsleif had been traveled with the Abyss Twin for a considerable number of years. Although it hasn't been confirmed yet how long exactly he traveled with them, it's clear before the Cataclysm that befell Khaenri'ah happened, Dainsleif traveled across Teyvat with the Abyss Twin.
Due to the curse of immortality from Celestia, Dain is suffering from erosion, in the form of memory loss. According to Dain, he remember things in the past every now and then, but he hasn't completely regained anything that would explain pretty well what happened during the Cataclysm.
According to Zurvan during The Hymn of Tir Yazad quest, she fought side-by-side a Masked Dahrian Swordsman, with golden hair, whose body is half of a monster. Although Zurvan initially noted the swordsman had no monstrosity inside him.
This was alluded to be Dainsleif, who eventually had to leave with another individual said to have golden hair like his!

Dainsleif makes his in-game story debut in the Prelude Bough Keeper: Dainsleif. He first meets with the Traveler in Angel's Share, where in exchange for 500 mora and three questions, he'd accept to adventure with them.
Dainsleif, Traveler, and Paimon make their way outside Mondstadt to find traces of the Abyss Order. Remarking the significance of finding the Abyss Herald, the band travels around Temple of the Falcon and Wolvendom, until they reach Stormterror's Lair.
During the last events of the Prelude Chapter, it was revealed that the events of the ''We Will Be Reunited'' story teaser intersected with the events of this quest. This connection is further evidenced by the arena in Stormterror's Lair, where the Traveler was seen fighting. Players can also see the Dandelion cameo on top of the mountain, and the Ruin Guard footprints.
Bough Keeper: Dainsleif Quest Guide
Traveler and Paimon once again encounters Dainsleif while they are investigating a commission related to the Abyss Order. While continuing to track traces of the Abyss Order, Dainsleif reveals the events of what led to Khaenri'ah's downfall.
After defeating an Abyss Herald, the Abyss Prince/Princess, the Traveler's lost twin, reveals themself. Dainsleif is already familiar with who the Abyss Prince/Princess is, and is hinted that they were companions before. The Abyss sibling escapes through a portal, with Dainsleif in pursuit, leaving the Traveler and Paimon behind.
We Will Be Reunited Quest Guide
Dainsleif meets up again with the Traveler as they investigate the Chasm and its connection to the Abyss Order. They find an old friend by the name of Halfdan and discover more about the Traveler's sibling.
Requiem of the Echoing Depths Quest Guide
Dainsleif met once again with Traveler and Paimon in the nation of Knowledge, Sumeru. In Port Ormos, Dainsleif and Kaeya Alberich crossed each other's path, to which Dainsleif regarded the former with apprehension, being an Alberich—the bloodline of the Founder of the Abyss Order.
The gang then went to Avidya Forest, where Dainsleif mentioned of regaining a core memory about Khaenri'ah.
As with the previous Prologue Archon Quests, Dainsleif makes his appearance again dropping lore bombs, and immediately leaving afterwards. This time Dainsleif has revealed that his older brother Vedrfolnir, is one of the Five Sinners of Khaenri'ah.
The Five Sinners of Khaenri'ah are highly-esteemed individuals who managed to obtained world-shattering powers that they chose to keep for themselves instead of mitigating the Cataclysm 500 years ago.
