This Kaveh DPS build focuses on increasing his Bloom damage with the Flower of Paradise Lost artifact set and Elemental Mastery stats. He can claim ownership for Dendro Core damage if you have more Hydro than Dendro.

Make sure to have a teammate use the Deepwood Memories set to increase Kaveh's Dendro Core damage. Otherwise, Kaveh should use Deepwood Memories instead.

This is a variant of the Bloom build in teams wherein Kaveh is not the trigger for Bloom cores. All your team members (including Kaveh) must have Elemental Mastery to fully utilize his role as a driver and tank for Bloom Cores.

If you also want to increase Kaveh's non-bloom damage, then equipping him with the Gilded Dreams Artifact set will be your best choice. By doing this, he can can also work great in a Spread, Hyperbloom, or Burgeon team comps!

Make sure you have another Dendro character so they can equip Deepwood Memories instead. This also lowers Kaveh's energy requirement.

Kaveh's Talent Priority

Main DPS Talent Priority
1st Elemental Burst
2nd Normal Attack
3rd Elemental Skill

We recommend levelling up Kaveh's Burst first as it also increases the DMG bonus Kaveh gives for the Bloom Core explosions. You may consider not levelling up his Normal or Elemental Skills if you aren't planning to use any other Dendro Reactions aside from Bloom.

Kaveh Artifact Rankings

Artifact Artifact Bonuses
1st Genshin - Flower of Paradise Lost Image Flower of Paradise Lost 2-PC: Elemental Mastery +80
4-PC: The equipping character's Bloom, Hyperbloom, and Burgeon reaction DMG are increased by 40%. Additionally, after the equipping character triggers Bloom, Hyperbloom, or Burgeon, they will gain another 25% bonus to the effect mentioned prior. Each stack of this lasts 10s. Max 4 stacks simultaneously. This effect can only be triggered once per second. The character who equips this can still trigger its effects when not on the field.
2nd Genshin - Deepwood Memories Image Deepwood Memories 2-PC: Dendro DMG Bonus +15%
4-PC: After Elemental Skills or Bursts hit opponents, the targets' Dendro RES will be decreased by 30% for 8s. This effect can be triggered even if the equipping character is not on the field.
3rd Genshin - Gilded Dreams Image Gilded Dreams 2-PC: Elemental Mastery +80
4-PC: Within 8s of triggering an Elemental Reaction, the character equipping this will obtain buffs based on the Elemental Type of the other party members. ATK is increased by 14% for each member whose Elemental Type is the same as the equipping character, and EM is increased by 50 for every member with a different Elemental Type. Each of the buffs will count up to 3 characters. This effect can be triggered once every 8s and even when not on the field.

As a Dendro Core focused Dendro unit, his Artifacts are pretty straight forward. Flower of Paradise Lost will help you deal the most Dendro Core damage, but only if there's another character already using Deepwood Memories to debuff the enemies.

In every other scenario, Deepwood Memories will be your go-to.

Kaveh excels in Bloom team comps. Take Hydro and Dendro characters to your team to facilitate the reaction, especially with Nilou. Take note that Bloom trigger ownership isn't predictable in these team comps so all characters must have some Elemental Mastery.

If you don't have Nilou, you can also slot in Xingqiu, Kokomi, or Ayato for their off-field Hydro application.

In a Hyperbloom team, Kaveh can act as the on-field driver to apply Dendro while on-field. You will need a second Dendro like Nahida or Yaoyao to battery Kaveh's burst and facilitate the reaction to prevent triggering Electro-Charged.

Similar to Bloom teams, Kaveh can drive Burgeon teams as he can mitigate the damage from the explosions due to his healing passive. Slot-in a strong Hydro applicator like Xingqiu and another Dendro to prevent Vaporize or Burning.

If you wish to build Kaveh as the carry of the team, you will have to make use of the Spread reaction. Note that Spread + Hyperbloom is still the superior choice as Kaveh's base DMG on his Normal and Charged Attacks aren't as high to be used alone.

Should You Pull for Kaveh?

Is Kaveh Good?

Kaveh is a decent bruiser for bloom teams to absorb the damage of Dendro Cores. While Kaveh in his best teams can be easily replaced by other options like Baizhu for more rounded healing or Alhaitham for personal damage, Kaveh is a good mix of both worlds.

If you do not have characters who can keep up with the recoil damage of Blooms, then Kaveh is a good but not a must have option.

When talking about his personal damage, however, he leaves a lot to be desired. You will need investment for both his Elemental Mastery and artifacts to justify bringing him to high-end content like Spiral Abyss.

How to Use Kaveh

Dendro Core Damage Dealer

Based on Kaveh's Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst, he is best suited as a Dendro Core enabler in a Dendro + Hydro Team comp. He can generate Dendro Cores easily by infusing his Normal Attacks with Dendro during his Elemental Burst

Kaveh Elemental Skill

Genshin - Kaveh Elemental Skill
When activating Kaveh's Elemental Skill, he will deal AoE Dendro damage around him and detonate any nearby Dendro Cores. This makes all Dendro cores, no matter who it was made by, scale their damage based on Kaveh's level and Elemental Mastery.

Kaveh Elemental Burst

Kaveh -Elemental Burst preview
When activating Kaveh's Elemental Burst, he will infuse his Normal Attacks with the Dendro element. It will also immediately trigger all nearby Dendro Cores, similar to his Elemental Skill. This effect will end once Kaveh leaves the field.

Thoughts About Kaveh

Character In-Game Thoughts
Genshin Impact - Alhaitham ImageAlhaitham Overly Sensitive: Kaveh tends to be overly sensitive about everyone and everything he crosses paths with, and he's constantly making a fuss about nothing. Maybe it's because he's too emotionally fragile...
Getting Duped: Someone set up a stand on the street saying that for each handmade keychain they sold, a child in poverty would be given a meal. Kaveh bought at least a dozen.
... This is Sumeru, where even healthcare is free. I needn't say more.
Genshin Impact - Collei ImageCollei The General Mahamatra once brought him to our place for a meal. From the moment the fruit arrived on the table, he ranted non-stop about his difficult and stubborn roommate for the entire meal. We didn't get a single word in the whole time. We just nodded along and tried to stifle our laughter. It took a lot of effort.
Genshin Impact - Cyno ImageCyno Tighnari and Collei never said it to my face, but they found Kaveh's personal anecdotes far more entertaining than the jokes I had prepared... I could see it on their faces. Hmm? What did I think about that? Well, I thought it was funny that they could laugh at such a situation.
Genshin Impact - Dori ImageDori Ah yeah, he's one of the Kshahrewar people that I work with. Unlike the more closed-minded people at the Akademiya, he actually has his own dreams that he's fighting for. I, for one, really respect that. I secretly lent him some Mora — and I mean a LOT of Mora — to build my Palace of Alcazarzaray. One thing's for sure — without Dori the benevolent benefactor, Kaveh would not be where he is today, hehe.
Genshin Impact - Faruzan ImageFaruzan Kaveh's a good kid with great potential. I had a casual chat with him once about some principles of mechanism construction. Hmm, how should I put it... He's too much of an artsy romantic, but at least he has some original ideas, which is rare nowadays. I've heard that he's fallen on some hard times, so I'm planning to invite him out for a good meal once my funding gets approved. It'll happen soon, promise.
Genshin Impact - Nahida ImageNahida He has an almost-perfect grasp of what it truly means for Sumeru to be a Nation of Wisdom. Sadly, the truth as he understands it will never be accepted as the mainstream. Hmm? He's roommates with Alhaitham? Wow... the world really is full of surprises...
Genshin Impact - Nilou ImageNilou I heard he was the one who built the magnificent Palace of Alcazarzaray. He must have had a wonderful time making such a masterpiece, like when I'm in the middle of dance practice. Just thinking about dancing for everyone gives me so much happiness and motivation.
Genshin Impact - Tighnari ImageTighnari Kaveh is a famous architect in Sumeru. The Palace of Alcazarzaray is his magnum opus. During the initial planning, he even asked me to recommend suitable ornamental flora. I don't know why or how, but he ended up heavily in debt after the palace was completed. Alhaitham is helping out by letting him stay him at his place, but...I don't know whether that's a blessing or a curse...

Kaveh's Thoughts About Others

Character In-Game Thoughts
Genshin Impact - Alhaitham ImageAlhaitham About Alhaitham
Temperament: I guarantee you'll never meet anyone else who's as infuriating as him! And for the record, yes, I would say that to his face. Sure, he's smart, and sure, geniuses often come with a bad temper, but that's only half the story with him... He knows perfectly well how to appear friendly and likable to others, he just doesn't want to.
If he ever gives you the impression that he doens't really have a temper, or that he's rigidly logical like a machine, then you just don't know him well enough yet. He definitely has a personality, it's just... too big a personality. Most people wouldn't get it.
It's Complicated: Alhaitham helped me out a fair amount recently. If we were still as close as we were during our student days, then I'd be thanking him every chance I got. Now, though... I can't seem get a word of appreciation out of my mouth. Even if I could, I wouldn't want to give him the satisfaction.
I guess you could say our relationship is something of a mixed bag these days? Honestly, with everything that's happened, it almost feels like the universe has been playing pranks on us... It's hard to make sense of it all... too much to process for one lifetime. I will say that it's not every day that you get to know someone like him — I just wish he could rein in some of the worst excesses of his personality. Okay, yeah, that's never gonna happen.
Genshin Impact - Collei ImageCollei About Collei
I've met Collei quite a few times now. As Tighnari's student and assistant, she follows him everywhere. With her diligence and patience, she's much more responsible than most other kids her age. But, umm... I can also tell that she's got a lot going on inside.
Genshin Impact - Cyno ImageCyno About Cyno
Cyno can come across as cold and ruthless, but he's actually a very big-hearted guy. I still remember how shocked I was when Tighnari said he was gonna introduce me to his best friend, and then a couple of seconds later, an incredibly intimidating matra comes walking through the door... I honestly never expected to meet a matra who's so comfortable hanging out with scholars. Gotta say though, I can't stand his sense of humor. It really makes my skin crawl. If he ever invites you to a meal at Tighnari's place, make sure someone's bringing beer, because no one should have to endure Cyno's humor while sober.
Genshin Impact - Dori ImageDori About Dori
Dori is the owner of the Palace of Alcazarzaray... Excuse me? Mine? No, don't be ridiculous. I know full well that it doesn't belong to me... I know, I know, but... argh, please, let's not go there!
Dori is a shrewd one. She knows how to coerce others into doing things for her. I, uh... For, ahem, various reasons, I now owe her a large sum of money. It all got quite complicated in the end, but... A-Anyway, I wish she'd show me a little mercy, and stop making my life a misery for the sake of Mora. I swear, she doesn't seem like a bad person at heart, so... I just don't understand, how did she turn out like this?
Genshin Impact - Faruzan ImageFaruzan About Faruzan
Madam Faruzan doesn't mince her words, so I can understand why some students at the Akademiya are afraid of her. She doesn't have any bad intentions, though — all she wants is to devote herself completely to the research that interests her. Some people say that all Haravatat scholars are hard to get along with, and uh... heh, I'll let you be the judge of that. I assume she's already asked you to be her student? She sure is a little intense when she's doing the hard sell, huh... But she can walk the walk too. She really does know her stuff.
Genshin Impact - Nahida ImageNahida About Lesser Lord Kusanali
Lesser Lord Kusanali is a wise and capable god. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable, she also possesses virtue far beyond mortal comprehension. I have only the utmost respect for her tolerance of others — especially in a nation of learning like Sumeru, that takes great equanimity.
Sometimes, though, I do stop to wonder... Surely even the gods must have their struggles, too? Oftentimes, confusion is the beginning of wisdom... In which case, how can we ever achieve true happiness?
Genshin Impact - Nilou ImageNilou About Nilou
Nilou's talent as a dancer is indisputable. Zubayr Theater really lucked out when they recruited her. I've heard that she has a great personality too — she always smiles and says encouraging things to her audience when she's performing. Once I can find some time, I'll have to catch one of her shows.
Genshin Impact - Tighnari ImageTighnari About Tighnari
Ah, Tighnari... He's one of the nicest guys you could know. If you've met him, you'll know what I mean. He's kind, and he has enormous expertise in his field, but he never brags about it in front of other people. And he seems to genuinely care about his work.
Back when I was building the Palace of Alcazarzaray, I asked him for some tips on how to pick out the right ornamental plants. After he wrote back to me, he also helped me out with some other issues, too. Oh, and I. almost forgot — he was the one who first introduced me to Cyno.
