Complete the Journey of Stars and Flames Quest
You can unlock Where All Hopes Lie after completing the previous subquest of Act 5 of Chapter 5, Journey of Stars and Flames quest!

Where All Hopes Lie Walkthrough
Go to where Gosoythoth
is
Immediately after the previous subquest, go to where Gosoythoth is, which is located at the peak of the Night Kingdom. To go there, you'll have to go through three sets of obstacle courses, each of which forcing you to indwell on different Saurians to complete!
How to Go Where Gosoythoth

| 1 | After the brief cutscene, you'll be immediately indwelled to a Tepetlisaurus. Do not press anything except left/right keys, which you'll all be using to avoid the obstacles. |
| 2 | Then, you'll be indwelled to a Yumkausurus next. As soon as you set foot on the floating debris, immediately grapple on the grappling point right across you. It can be confusing at first, but all the grappling points you'll need for this course are positioned to your left, so make sure to slightly move your camera to the left to spot the grappling points! |
| 3 | The last obstacle course can be completed while indwelling on a Koholasaurus, and avoiding the abyss lasers along the Spiritway. The lasers are relatively easy to dodge, but keep in mind that you can sprint forward using its skill to easily avoid some attacks! |
Defeat Gosoythoth
Immediately after the Spiritway course, a cutscene will play which reveals the true form of Gosoythoth, a serpentine dragon wielding dual-blade swords imbued with Abyss and Pyro. The Traveler also gets their Pyro Resonance during this time, which you're stuck on using all throughout the battle.
How to Defeat Gosoythoth (Phase 1)

| 1 | The first attack of Gosoythoth is a Pyro-aligned AoE sword slam which leaves the ground smoldered, dealing Pyro DoT damage. This attack won't kill you, however make sure to immediately use your elemental skill after this to generate energy for your burst. |
| 2 | It's important that you have your elemental burst ready before Gosoythoth slams its sword, to avoid taking damage and recover HP. |
| 3 | Keep on attacking Gosoythoth until you've whittled down its HP to a certain percentage to trigger the next phase! |
Continue your
journey
Before Phase 2 starts, continue your journey with Mavuika and all the residents of Natlan. After the cutscene has played out, Mavuika joins in the fray!
Defeat Gosoythoth
(Phase 2)
To defeat Gosoythoth during the second phase of the battle, juggle between Mavuika's huge DPS output and the Traveler's heals to sustain your team long enough for the support of the Yohualtecuhtin appears. The Lord of the Night brings forth three giant totems, which greatly empowers your attacks, guaranteeing Gosoythoth's defeat!
Lord of the Night Totems
The Lord of the Night summons three totems, each of which bearing two symbols from the Six Tribes of Natlan. After purifying the totems by attacking them, Mavuika and the Traveler gets an empowered slash that greatly damages Gosoythoth!
Wait for the Crosshair to Change
To easily hit Gosoythoth with your empowered slash, make sure to wait for the on-screen crosshair to change before attacking to guarantee that the slash will hit!
