Aha! Looks like Stride on Rainbows, Split the Waves is not locked behind any quest! |
The only requirement for this quest is to unlock Natlan. Stride on Rainbows, Split the Waves becomes available as soon as the player can reach its location.
To start this Quest, find Rongo near the shores of an island east of the People of the Springs, and southeast from the Statue of the Seven near Ameyalco Waters.
If you have already unlocked the Teleport Waypoint above the island from doing the Seeker No Finding World Quest, you can simply just jump down from the island and glide towards Rongo.
Rongo talks about "training" via surfing to get away from the image of the "People of the Spring" being laid-back.
Before he can begin though, players much indwell a Koholasaurus and help shoo away the Flowcurrent Birds from the Training Area with its Aquadash.
Flowcurrent Birds Location | |
---|---|
1 |
The first two birds can be found at the first hurdle nearest to where Rongo is at the shore. |
2 | The third bird is alone at a hurdle left to where the first two are located. |
3 | Move to the right to see one Flowcurrent Bird on a hurdle, and one relaxing on a floatsie. |
4 | The last Flowcurrent Bird is perched on top of what looks to be a surfboard. While up there, collect the Shiny Shell. You will need it for a future step in this quest. |
Players are presented with an option to pause this quest from this point, and can be continued at the player's convenience. |
After clearing out the Flowcurrent Birds, Rongo invites you to test out the Great Training Area of the Springs. A nearby Spiritsconce for a Koholasaurus will spawn nearby for convenience, as its abilities are needed for this part of the Quest.
Tips for Training Area Surfing Test | |
---|---|
1 | This trial lasts 10 minutes. This will let you get used to controlling a Koholasaurus, as well as get a feel for the entire obstacle course of the Training Area. |
2 | Collect Pyro Particles that are scattered across the Training Area. Make use of the Koholasaurus's abilities to maneuver around the area fast. |
3 | Near the end of the course is a Jet-Set Eddie that will give your Koholasaurus a big boost in jumping power. |
4 | Go too far from the Training Area, or touch land that's close from the area, and Challenge automatically fails. |
Rongo mentions that the Training Area would be better if he manages to open up some of the Spiritdoors around. Go up the island's mountain and head to the Ancient Inscription to unlock it, which needs three Shiny Shells.
Shiny Shells are key items found within the World Quest's location to open the Spiritdoors in the Great Training Area of the Springs.
Locations of the Shiny Shells | |
---|---|
1 | Found on the surfboard, near the last Flowcurrent Bird to be chased away. |
2 | Given by Rongo after completing the first Surfing Test. |
3 | In front of the Ancient Inscription. This one can be collected even before starting the World Quest, so check your Inventory to be sure. |
After providing the three Shiny Sheels in the Ancient Inscription, go back to Rongo after opening the Spiritdoors.
Rongo mentions he will need a day to modify the Great Training Area of the Springs for a more challenging experience.
You can do other quests while waiting for this one to properly pop up, but for faster clearing, use the time mechanic.
Players are presented with an option to pause this quest from this point, and can be continued at the player's convenience. |
After a day in-game has passed, talk to Rongo again with the new and improved Training Area. Clear the new Spiritway Test, and the World Quest is finished!
Tips for Spiritway Test | |
---|---|
1 | This time, the Spiritway Trial lasts 5 minutes, and needs 120 Particles collected along the way. |
2 | All the tips from the first Surfing Test are also applicable here. |
3 | There are now multiple Spiritways across the Training Area. Make sure to get on as many of them as they have lots of Particles to collect there. |
4 | The final destination is the same Jet-Set Eddie from the first Surfing Trial. Try to end the Spiritway Test here. |
Stride on Rainbows, Split the Waves in Return is a new World Quest found in Natlan, which was released as part of Version 5.0's release.
This is a standalone World Quest, with no connection to a Quest Chain.
