Collect the Trial Keystones

Before you can start the quest, you must first collect three Courier's Trial Keystones in the Ancestral Temple by completing Relay Ball puzzles located on the three sides of the temple. You will need to indwell a Yumkasaur here.

Relay Ball Puzzle #1

Jump down to the north of the temple's teleport waypoint for the first puzzle. Simply grab the Relay Ball and fire it at the yellow platform in front of it to get the first keystone.

Relay Ball Puzzle #2

Next is the west puzzle. Before you grab the Relay Ball, hit the Ball Path Converter first so it faces south. Now, grab the Relay Ball and fire it at the Ball Path Converter.

As the ball flies toward the receiver platform, quickly hit the Ball Path Converter again to lower the gate blocking the platform and let the ball through.

Relay Ball Puzzle #3

Now head to the east puzzle and hop over the broken bridge to where the Relay Ball is. Grab the Relay Ball and fire it at the Ball Path Converter on the other side. As the ball hits the converter, pull the lever next to the gate so the red Relay Ball can hit the receiver inside.

Go to the Camp

Go to the camp

After collecting all three Courier's Trial Keystones, approach the mechanism in front of the temple (south of the waypoint) to trigger a cutscene with a Courier named Legba, who will invite you to a nearby camp.

Turn around and zip to the top of the ladder to reach Legba's camp and another cutscene. After regaining control, open the Precious Chest under the tent to obtain Primogems, some Mora, and the recipe for Forest of Color.

Head back to the mechanism from earlier and use the keystones to open the temple gate.

Start exploring the temple by dropping down the center with the Pyroculus.

Find a Way to Venture Deeper Into the Ruins

Follow the path until you end up in a large room with another mechanism and a lamp puzzle. You will have to solve three of such puzzles while indwelt in a Yumkasaur.

Lamp Puzzle #1

Start with the lever that Legba pointed out earlier. After pulling it, wait for the lamps to align and glow red before locking the mechanism again. Remember this solution as it will be the same as the other two puzzles.

Lamp Puzzle #2

Now go to the east side of the room and grab a Phlogiston fruit from the side. Fire it at the cracked wall to the north to reveal the mechanism for the next lamp puzzle. Align the two lamps like before to clear it.

Lamp Puzzle #3

For the last lamp puzzle on the west side, drop down to where the Pyroculus is and go up the opening on the other side to access the mechanism. You must open the gate first to make the mechanism active.

The water level in the room will drop down after solving the puzzle, and there will be a Precious Chest waiting for you below.
